Hotel was stunning and the staff were amazing then went to the hotel shop for some sunscreen and the shock at 2500 peso for something that was under 750 anywhere else in Cebu. It's all very well charging a premium to a captive market but nearly 300 per cent mark up is disgusting. Put a sour note on the trip for me I expect to pay premium prices for service, food and drinks etc but not that much for something so simple.
Spent a few days here with the family (multiple rooms) and we enjoyed our stay so much. Staff amazing - special mention to the Housekeeping Team, Front Desk Team (both day and evening shifts), the Pool staff, etc. The check-in (despite a line) went fairly quickly. Love our rooms in the main building. I love the amenities offered in our rooms and the many amenities in the resort, e.g. 3 or maybe 4? swimming pools, private Shang Mac beach and the highlight for me, the 'Lechon Parade' in the main restaurant. We had breakfast here daily and one buffet dinner (so elaborate, even ice cream offered at breakfast! which my baby brother loved!). Food is excellent. Service is the best. The Shang Mactan team exemplified true hospitality. Will definitely stay here again when in Cebu. Thank you to Shang Mactan team for the hospitality extended to me and my family.…
Shangri-La has always lived up to its name as a 5-star hotel that puts its customers above everything else. I was impressed with the hotel’s security because vehicles are thoroughly checked upon entry, and guests’ bags have to pass through a scanner every time they re-enter the hotel. Our room was very clean and smelled fresh when we arrived, and a wide selection of different cuisines is available for its guests. Aside from the hotel’s nearness to the airport, getting a cab or Grab is very easy. Because the Shang Mactan used to be the country’s biggest resort, guests can spend their entire stay there without having to leave the hotel premises. Their rates are reasonable (I call it affordable luxury), and the staff very helpful. The employees are not used to speaking Tagalog though so perhaps they can brush up on that.…
We just stayed there overnight but we made sure to made sure to make the most out of it specially the swimming pools, breakfast, beach front. My kid loves the whole experience! Only thing I noticed was the checkin counter area was hot as hell (it was April and tempretures are soaring) no ceiling fan! On the otherside there was a big ceiling fan but not in the checkin counter area where families sit down and wait to be checked in. But over all it was alright! Breakfast buffet was all good! Different selection of food!
My famuly and I love the ambience. The beach is great with all the fish swimming around you. It makes the experience more fun and exciting. My eldery parents and kids have fun. Further our rooms view from the balcony is the sea and the pool area which is a nice way to relax while just sitting in.
Definitely one of the best resorts in Cebu Mactan. The location and facilities are great. Buffet and room service food selection are extensive and of high quality. Beach is Ok and the best you can find within Cebu Mactan area. Corals aren’t that great but there are plenty of fish during high tide. Fish feeding is highly recommended. The housekeeping staff are awesome. Special Thanks to Ramel Bihag for posting the item that i left in the hotel! I wish they keep the beach, resto and pool open till late that said Shangrila Mactan will be my home when in Cebu.
Life time experience. Perfect place for a week gateaway, be it business trip or family. Great location with great people with lovely personalities. Best place. Will be back soon again for my business trip. I would like to Thanks Raul, who helped alot during my stay in Shangrila. You will never regret for wht you will be paying for.
The weakest among the Shangri-La hotels here in the Philippines (see my past reviews about Shangri-La the Fort and Boracay) and I here are the points as to my opinion. First, I have sent an email to inform them well ahead of time that we are spending a special occasion but we were never greeted even once. A five star hotel by definition is not only luxurious, but also capable of delivering personalized services to their guests. Also, reservation agents seem monotone and disinterested, contrary to my previous experience at other Shang properties where the reps were attentive to the details of our requests. Second, a billing dispute at one of their restaurants. The food at Tea of Spring was fantastic. However, the price of the mud crab that we ordered was not transparent on the menu. See the picture below. I was dead serious about reporting this to the consumer rights bureau. The manager acknowledged that this is due to a printing error. He offered a somewhat agreeable alternative which was to take both of our GC food vouchers worth 50usd each. The combined value of the vouchers is still more than price that he had to pay for if we strictly follow the price that's displayed on menu. We left the restaurant feeling cheated. Third, unresponsive customer service. I emailed their front desk to inform them of our not so good experience mentioned above but they did not respond. My stay at Shang Boracay and the Fort weren't perfect either but I still gave them a five star rating because of their ability to respond. Such a shame because there were good experiences. We stayed here for 3D2N. The Salt stone massage that we had at Chi the Spa is easily on our top list of massages. We had superb Chinese food at Tea of Spring - something that we haven't had in a long time. The place looks old but that adds to the charm and I like it the way it is. It's just too bad that we weren't able to capitalize on the Shangri-La brand of hospitality. Must Try: Fish feeding. Purchase a bottle of fish feed for 100php at the beach counter. The kids will love it . Lots of fish even in the shallows. Tip: Sign up for the golden circle program. The room and dining was made possible by redeeming the points that we earned from our past Shangri-La stays.…
Kudos to the staff of Shangrila Mactan. Very accomodating. Superb service. To Sir Darren, John Paul and Jeffrie in Buko Bar. Thumbs up for the excellent service. We had a very good lunch and awesome time with the family. The kids also had a very fun time in their playhouse. Very safe for kids as they sanitize them every 2 hours. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's been two long years since we've stayed in a 5 star hotel especially at Shangri-la. For this trip it was purely business. Glad that the service is still good and will be back again soon for another business trip. Won't stay at any other hotel in Mactan.
