This hotel is cheap and excellent location a couple of minutes from the Bolshoi Theatre, right in city centre, metro and buses a minute away and many nice shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, Tsum department store is close by too, Red Square isn't far away, the staff are very helpful, as I did my own breakfast because so many cheap...

The hotel is about 30m from Lublanka metro station and basicly 500m from the Red Sqare. It's very well situated for visiting the city. I wisited in December and altho it was very cold, the rooms were warm, clean and very comfortable. Stayed for 5 nights, and paid €36 per night for B&B. Breakfast was buffet affair with European and...

Beautiful old building in an alleyway, central location, but a bit run down. Many long term stay guests, wifi doesn't work well in rooms. Walking distance to many restaurants. Close to all central Moscow landmarks.

I stayed here for about a week this past February. My room (a regular one) was pretty bare-bones, just a bed, closet, and bathroom, but that's all I needed. My only complaint was that the toilet didn't always work and the shower was leaky. The staff speaks English and will call a taxi for you if you need one. There...

I stayed there from October 25 to 26. I checked the reviews and pics before going there but I could not even imagine it would be SO bad!!! First I was given a key from the room under restoration and after complaining the indifferent receptionist provided me with the key from the room in the opposite building. The nightmare: no...

We had recently visited Moscow early September and stayed in this hotel for 4 nights. After reading the reviews, we were really scared and were wondering how would it be. We had already booked a superior double room online without making any payment, so that there is no risk lol:) When we reached the hotel, the guy with specks at...

The Matreshka hotel was booked on our behalf & a few days before arrival I read the TA reviews and hence I was not looking forward to the experience. I was however pleasantly surprised. We had a room in the building opposite reception which did have a large window and a mezzanine style bed with the bathroom underneath. There was...

If you want to see the great sites of Central Moscow and not be dependent on taxis then this is the place for you. Admittedly it is not high class but as a base for a few nights it fits the bill. Breakfast is on offer and English is spoken at the front desk.
