The staff are friendly enough, but don't speak any English. The room was a decent size, but stank of cigarette smoke. The bed was clean and the mini bar stocked condoms. I had cards under my door from women offering their services. I moved to a different hotel after 2 nights.

it is up of my expectation, The price is cheap for what I paid. The room is spacious. All the amenities are provided. The front desk is helpful enough to show me the direction to the bus station. One thing, the Wifi is slow. but if you come for travel to relax, please forgot your modern device. If you travel around... More

Location was very and staffs were really helpful. Rooms were big enough. Would recommend to friends. We did not opt for the breakfast so not sure how it is. But the hotel tour is little expensive so we have arranged it on our own.

I stayed at the sapphire for 3 days. As others have mentioned it's in an excellent location particularly for shopping and food. The elephant trunk hill is only about 15 minutes by foot. Seven star park is about a 25 to 30 minute walk. Reception staff and tour booking staff speak minimal to no English but they try. Be prepared... More

When a Chinese friend booked our room I was skeptical because of the very cheap price. Surprisingly it was a good value for money. Our room was cleaned daily with towels and sheets replaced each time. Room aesthetics is not 5 star but comfortable. It was quite weird though that our twin room has condoms in the mini bar. Location... More

Checked in to this hotel after finding out its location. It is right on top of the night market which opens at 7pm every night. There is a bakery close by as well as many Chinese Restaurants. There is also a supermarket at the end of the Xicheng Pedestrian Street. The rooms were a little old and worn out but... More

On arrival this did seem like a reasonable hotel for the money. The room was spacious and the staff seemed ok. Unfortunately after returning from dinner in the evening we found a used condom on the bedroom floor next to the bed. I am sure it was not there before we went out as i had been sitting on the... The location of this hotel is fantastic-- you're far enough from the hawkers around the railway station, but only a block back from the main road, and right on top of a lovely night market (where you /will/ be ripped off, but go with it). The room had a little wear around the edges, but everything was clean and functional,... More

Location is the strongest point, within Xicheng Pedestrian Street with its night market, 10~15min walk from the lakes, 2 bus-stops from the Railway Station (trains for the south). The hotel is dated and would welcome some refurbishment. However the rooms were clean, big enough, quality of the sleep was ok, wi-fi was good, although there was no refrigerator and no... More

This quite smoky, very brothel-esque modern-ish hotel served our one night of sleep well, although there were quite a few novelty sexual hygiene products in liu of a minibar… Calling cards were strewn about in the halls, reminding me of a dirtier, mini-Vegas. A weird experience, but I guess that's what this formerly sleepy countryside town has become. Beware of... More
