Our room overlooked the Li River and the river walk. Great view of the river and the mountains. Although the hotel is older, the room was comfortable, clean and the service great. The breakfast buffet options were both Asian and Western with an omelet station. The hotel has wifi available in the lobby. It was within walking distance to town...

...I consider several factors in choosing a hotel, then rating it afterwards. I also try and get hotels that have character or a feel for where we are, or the type of trip I am on. In other words, when in Prague, I don't want the Hilton.

Reviews by others are very important, and we do our homework. Also considered...

The hotel is in a convenient location, and we enjoyed our stay here. As others stated, the beds are firmer than many like, but we found them comfortable. Wifi was available in the lobby, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our only complaint/concern was the electrical wiring, which we found to be substandard and franklky looked dangerous.

Our Smartours trip booked this hotel on our trip in May 2013. The hotel is conveniently located and directly across from the riverwalk area where we enjoyed the locals exercising in the morning and strolling at night. The service was typical of a hotel during Mao's reign. The Wifi was free in the lobby, but the signal cut in and...

My stay was booked as part of a Grand Circle Tour and was a highlight of the accommodations during the trip. The room featured the typical "key-in-the-slot" device to keep the electricity on in the room. Enjoyed the handy set of electrical controls on the bed table between the beds! Mattress was firmer than US folks will prefer, but softer...

The hotel was built in 1987. Our room overlooked the Li River and was across the way from the river walk to downtown. The room was large which was a refreshing surprise. The bathroom had older fixtures but was very clean and well maintained. Our air conditioner worked well and we were thankful as it was hot and humid outside....

Convenient location. The riverwalk area comes alive at night and is well lit. Service was good. Free Wi-Fi in the lobby, but the signal cut in and out for a smartphone. Food was excellet. Rooms were very well maintained in a 3-4 star style.

The air conditioner in our room was not working. This was likely because it looks like a 1980's air conditioner. We asked to have it fixed but instead we were given an oscillating fan. The next day we asked again, can they fix the air conditioner or give us a room with a working air conditioner. Apparently they could not...

Our group of 16 stayed here for 2 nights. I saw many foreign tourists stayed as well, westerners, Koreans etc. Although this hotel is referred to as 5-star, don't expect truely it is. It is not close to that usual international standard even. However, I think this one is quite good and acceptable (unless you acted like an inspector specialist,...

The lobby was quite large and grand. Our room was a little outdated. But we had a great night sleep there. I was disappointed with the hair dryer. The cord attaching to the unit fell off half way through my hair drying. We weren't happy that the maid knocked on our door twice after dinner, around 7 PM to replenish...
