First of all the hostel is not nice at all. The guy at the reception spoke really poor English and he misguided us to the terracota warriors. We only had a few hours in Xi'an and we lost 2 hours because his directions were wrong and not clear. Not recommended.

Though we arrived at this place close to midnight, the reception was friendly and English-speaking guests will appreciate the helpful staff who gave tips on how to get to the various attractions in Xi'an. We got a room with a sprawling traditional Kang bed. Furnishings were decidedly oriental, with a royal feel. The guy at the reception told us that...

I should start by saying this is a completely unbiased review (Jano's were offering printed maps of the city in return for a 5 stars review on Trip Advisor – we didn't take a map purposely so that we could remain impartial when reviewing the hostel). In short, our stay at Jano's was really special. My parents and I (grown-up...

I stayed here on my own and had one of the village kang beds and it was great. The bed was massive and the room was also. Location was really good just inside the city wall along a street with plenty of places to have a beer and relax. Don't know what the dorms are like but would recommend the...

Jano's is located near the wall of the inner city, in a low rise district, which has remained quiet and authentic, neat some great streets, with tons of interesting shops and museums. I had a small double room to myself with a private shower room, opening on a terrace. It was quite comfortable, even if there were better rooms available...

We got off the train from Chengdu at 2300 and spent an hour and a half looking for this place. It's on Shuncheng Nanlu Dongduan Street, right against the south wall of the city. Jacky's Bar is on the corner, then the Back Nook bar, Hero bar and a few others. Walk past these bars and take your first left(north)...

Positive: excellent location near the south gate. We booked a double room and got a very large and spacious room which had all necessary amenities including free wifi, heating/AC, hot water, etc. Clean room, beautifully decorated. Staff speaks english. Cute area near the hotel (shops selling oil paintings, art supplies, decorations, etc. ) Negative: The room was very dark as...

Our family of 5 used 2 rooms at Jano's in late September. The location within the walls and in the old town is perfect, close to great alleys and strips of cheat eateries. The communication by email was great and all arrangements were very smoothly done. The rooms were good. Our twin room (i.e. for us parents) was nice (en...

We arrived late at night and turned on the ac as it was very hot. Downstairs is a Belgian Beer Cafe with live music so we enjoyed a cold beer in the very pretty outdoor seating area. Although we were concerned that the very loud music would be audible in our room, we neednt've worried as it didn't bother us...
