This place was great. I went on their tour to the terracotta warriors and our guide Jaja (pronounced yeah yeah) was really informative and saved the best for last. She also let us try the tea ceremony as we had time which I really enjoyed! The hostel itself had lovely staff too, and a beautiful dog called Lady! Food was...

China can be crazy, Xi'an too, but this hostel is comfortable, clean, stylish, and the staff are welcoming and helpful. The food in the restaurant is delicious, and the bar area is a nice place to relax after a day, or a night on the town. I have stayed here many times, and will again. The dorms beds are large...

This place is sweet, very close to the bus stops, has great customer service, great english speakers, great food, etc. It is initially a bit difficult to find but very easy to navigate the city once you do.

Like me, you might have seen Lonely Planet's statement that Hantang House has "some of the most comfortable beds in China." It also has some of the least comfortable beds. I know, because there were four of us in a four-bed room, and two were absolutely miserable -- so hard that people woke up with shoulder aches! So, the good,...

We went here just for a drink in the bar as there are very few bars in the town. Had happy hour on so prices were good. The server had very good English. There are squat toilets so avoid if you don't like using them. Nobody else in the bar so not much atmosphere

Hantang is one of the best Western backpacker's hostel I've seen in China. It provides everything you expect from a hostel like laundy service, bar, evening programs etc. Staff there speaks a very good English which cannot be taken for granted in China. They are really trying their best to make your stay agreeable. But the downside is, that few...

I stayed at Hantang hostel for 2 nights. The staff was very helpful, sending me details of how to get to the hostel a few days before my stay. Rooms and even the bathroom were spotless. Air-con and wifi functioned well. It is also located at the city centre with the drum tower/bell tower minutes away. Highly recommended!

We stayed in XI'AN for two nights and booked in this hostel a private double room. The room was very clean and cosy. A perfect place to calm down. The staff was very helpful and the hostel itself has good breakfast and beers from all over the world. I really recommend this place in Xi'an.

We stayed for 4 nights and booked 3 more for a return trip. The staff was friendly, helpful, and had good English. It is located within minutes of many attractions, and transportation hubs. A little difficult to find for a first time visitor; I don't think I would have found it without a taxi. They have a great tour option...

We stayed at Hantang house. The staff were great and the location is in the middle of everything you want. The room was ok and given there is live music and a bar as part of the hostel, it can be a bit noisy at times, however if you are wanting a lively place to stay, this is the place...
