Alley Youth Hostel is well known among Travelers from Malaysia. My wife and I stayed in Alley Youth Hostel for 4 nights. My first impression of this hostel was almost similar to other budget hostel. My wife really surprised when we found that the room was so spacious, bed was as good as a five star hotel bed. Really superb. All amenities were available. We enjoyed watching Cable TV for the first night. Almost every staff at Alley Youth Hostel could communicate in English especially Steven. Steven he himself waiting for our arrival at the airport as our flight arrived at mid-night. Alley Youth Hostel is conveniently located in the Muslim Quarters whereby we enjoyed Halal Food. We visited almost all parts of Muslim Quarters especially the Grand Mosque and the nearby Bell Tower, Drum Tower and City Wall. We had an opportunity visiting the popular Terracotta Worrier with Steven. Our 4 nights stay was not enough. We will come again to visit Xi'an and definitely will stay at Alley Youth Hostel. This time with bigger group.…
I stayed in alley youth hostel for 1 night with a friend. We booked a dorm room, but when we arrived we were upgraded to a private room free of charge The location is reasonably good with transport within walking distance and lots of street food around. There is a Wal-mart nearby that we went to for some supplies and was about 20 minutes walk. The hostel had very nice facilities and a lovely common area next to the lobby with a bar serving drinks and food at a cheap price The only bad thing was the wifi was terrible and couldn’t use the internet. But overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend
I stopped over here with a friend for about 6 hours we had originally booked a dorm room but got upgraded for free only concern was the wifi didn’t really work very well however the room had a great kettle, would come back for a stop over at Xi’an
This hostel is an unbeatable price in a very cool neighborhood of Xi’an. I got a clean, private room, with great sunlight and a nice shower. The staff are incredible. From helping me mail postcards, to a guided tour around the old market, to a huge help — I had to go to the hospital for dehydration and the staff accompanied me, helped translate, and kept me company during a six hour IV drip. These are the best people. I’m forever grateful. Pro tip: the Google Maps location is incorrect due to Google being blocked by Chinese ISPs.
I’m from malaysia travelling to Xi’an China. Me and my husband travelled to Xi’an in february 2019. It was one of the final week of winter. Then again, don’t let “final week” of winter fool ya, it is still cold! Arrived xi’an with a -3 degrees celcius greeting us 🤣 the rest of the day is from 1-8 degrees celcius. Highest was 12, but only in the afternoon. After that the weather quickly reduced to 4,2,-1, 0 🤣 no snow, rain yes and my hands was freezing despite wearing gloves 🤣 I googled many places to stay in Xi’an and came across Alley Youth Hostel. I researched the place and many people gave this place an excellent choice to stay. It was affordable too! Kalau nak book tempat ni, I suggest book online. Compare harga2. Saya haritu book dekat booking.com. Time tu memang murah. 67 ringgit 1 malam utk dua orang. Booking kena guarantee pakai credit card. Tak kena cas pun. Bila sampai hostel baru bayar cash. CASH YE, bukan Credit card. Boleh je bayar credit card tapi line card diorang selalu off, jadi saya advice tukar duit ckup2 utk bayar. Bayaran FULL bila check in. Check out just bagi kunci bilik and bla. Dah x perlu nak bayar itu ini. Even though it is a hostel, they do cater two pax couple. Me and my husband booked a room with a single queen sized bed and with our own private bathroom. And let me tell ya it was SUPER Comfy! The room is clean. A heated shower. This is a hostel to don’t expect to have a wardrobe in the room 🤣 The place is SUPER strategic! Everywhere is walking distance! 5 minutes walk to muslim street. 5 minutes walk to the grand mosque. 7 minutes walk to the bell tower, 15 minutes walk to the ancient city wall where you can rent a bike there. Oh yea, me and the hubs rented bicycles to complete the wall, and it took us 1 and a half hour to complete 🤣 yes that is how huge it is 🤣 From the ancient city wall, we went down to North gate and from there walked straight until bell tower. Like seriously, bell tower is in the center, so if you got lost, just search for bell tower and I PROMISE you, you can find your way back. That is what me and my husband did. We did alot of walking and since the bell and drum tower is really near muslim street, you can easily familiarise the area instantly! Its all thanks to Alley Youth hostel whose location was strategic until me and my husband quickly familiarise ourselves around. Oh and the owner of the hostel is great too! He speaks really good english. You can request a map of the city and the map will help you move around the city with ease 👍🏻…
