An unassuming hotel with lovely nature surrounding. Woke up with a view of snow covered trees and roofs. Full of christmassy feel. Marvellous. Hotel food was delightful and delicious. Nice place to spend time with family and loved ones.

Stayed at this hotel in Feb during the Sapporo Snow Festival. The hotel is about one hour away by bus as there is no train to that area. The website said there is a shuttle bus avalable from Sapporo station but must be booked at least 2 days before stay. When i sent a email to reserve one week before the arrival, I was told the bus is fully booked and we have to make our own way there. When I asked if we could then book the bus for the return trip back to Sapporo station, again they said the bus was fully booked. IApparently the bus could only take 9 persons and the hotek was fully booked ( with many families!). I informed them that this is not very good as they should cater for a larger crowd or at least make an extra trip to fetch visitors. In this case, we not only have to find our way there (there was a snow storm there then) , not knowing Japanese, and the return bus fare from Sapporo cost us an extra 2,140 yen each. That means it's about an extra 4,280 yen per room.
The buffet dinner was average and there was no crab dish. You have to pay about 2,500 yen to order it as side. Wifi available only at the lobby.. All in, not really worth the price we pay.

After staying in so many city hotel without onsen, finally we came to Jozankei Manseikaku Hotel Milione.

We staying in a Japanese style room with tatami ... Room view is great which you can oversee the whole Jozankei scenery ... (as shown in photo)

You can wear the japanese bath robe all over the places in the hotel including the buffet hall.

Onsen experience is good where there is a small outdoor onsen let you soak in a hot spring in a very cold weather.

The room is spacious then can host a family of 4-5 ...(shown in photos)

I think everyone come to Hokkaido should try a onsen hotel at least once !

Despite inability to speak English, all the hotel staff are very polite and helpful. One Chinese staff even taught us how to wear the yukata. The view over the roaring Toyohiiro River was magnificent. Dinner was excellent with the spread & freshness. There're so many pools to choose in the onsen. We enjoyed much.

I had a twin room (western style) which was large by Japanese standards. It could do with some modernisation as the veneer was peeling on some of the furniture. The buffet dinner was acceptable with a reasonable selection to choose from. The breakfast was also reasonable with thick bacon for a change. No Wi-Fi or LAN in the room which in my experience is unusual in Japan. You can access Wi-Fi in the lobby.

My biggest complaint was they are now discriminating people with tattoos from using the Onsen (picture attached). I have stayed at this hotel before and not had this issue. The whole purpose of me staying there was to enjoy the hot springs so it was a complete waste of time and money for me. I appreciate Japan has a real issue with tattoos but in my experience hotels have been more lenient than public places. I wasn't warned by the hotel booking site either. For this reason I have given the service a low mark, however the staff were otherwise very accommodating. I will not be returning.

We stayed for only a night as we were on packaged tour. It was a great experience sleeping on a tatami. The staff are generally polite and helpful, typical of most Japanese.
We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel and were impressed with the taste and variety of food.
The onsen was also great, as well as the foot bath. Guests can wear the yukata to everywhere in the hotel.

The subject says it all. You will be spoilt for choices during dinner and the onsen is big enough. The tatami room is really big and again, I like it when they separate the toilet bowl from the other toilet amenities. The overall experience is great.

We booked a Japanese style room for our family of six. Room size is large and spacious. But there is a strong smell of cigarettes. Do ask for air purifier to clean the air though the smell is still there. The buffet breakfast and dinner are included in our stay, although we have to pay a separate charge for my six year old's meals. There is good variety of food but not fantastic.

Chose this hotel out of many in Jozankei onsen mainly because of the price. Wasn't quite sure what I was going to get for 9000 Yen but pleasantly surprised.
Room is typical Japanese style, great views over Jozankei onsen. Free shuttle bus to/from Sapporo Station. Granted there's no welcome matcha/wagashi, no one showing you the room, but I'm not fussed considering the price.
One downside though: since it was a public holiday, there were many people using the onsen in the afternoon, day trippers from Sapporo I think? As they used different colour towels. Was quite shocked when I walked in the changing room...

Japanese tradition style. No tattoo or clothing allowed. It's crowded with tourists so it's really dirty. I really won't recommend.
