A bit pricey because it was during silver week but I am really glad I chose this hotel. the hotel is located near the station as well as odori park and other popular tourist place. Not really suitable for traveler with heavy baggage since the underway passage is not equipped with lift/escalator. Plenty of convenience store nearby and the hotel has most upgraded version of coin laundry. The room is really really clean and cute. I appreciate that they offer us enough amenities to use during my stay. The lobby has a bar located beside the front desk and at night it smells of cigarette and drunk people but overall it is a safe place to stay even for solo female traveler.
Although there is a part of the hotel's name "Sapporo Ekimae(in front of Sapporo Station)", it takes more than 5 minutes on foot from Sapporo Station. One of the advantages in terms of accessibility is that you can go through an underground passage from Sapporo Station right before the entrance of the hotel, avoiding bad weather and strong sunlight. As with other hotels in the area, the hotel is basically open 24 hours a day, and there are convenience stores in the vicinity of the hotel, so you'll have no trouble finding food and daily necessities. However, cafes and restaurants are located a short distance from the hotel (but not so far that access is difficult). A specified card key is used to enter your rooms and to use elevators to access guest room floors. In particular, the elevators cannot be used unless the card key is held over the sensor in front of the elevator on the first floor, which is the entrance/exit and check-in floor. No card key is required to get down from the guest room floor to the first floor. There are two elevators, but because of the large number of guests during the tourist season, especially in the summer, the elevators are often late to come to the floor you are using. The hotel as a whole, as well as the guest rooms, are kept clean in every corner, but like most business hotels, the rooms are not particularly spacious, especially for a single person. On the other hand, rooms in the corners of the building are relatively spacious, and although they are farthest away from the elevator hall, they are comfortable and spacious.…
I stayed one night at the Richmond Hotel in mid-February. The hotel is centrally located--about a 10 minute casual walk from the central train station. The hotel is a new, modern building. Everything was clean and functioning (including the A/C in February!). While the room was small (the hotel had a business hotel vibe), it was quite comfortable. The staff were all very friendly and happily held my luggage on the day of check in. I would definitely return again.
the hotel brand is very convenient to check in by 2PM in the afternoon before the usual check in times of another hotel brands. the hotel rooms are very comfortable size with refrigerator and all amenities in the room which there is another inside doors to be closed after walking into the hotel room to be separated from the bedroom and the bathroom with toilet in Japanese Style. the hotel location is near by JR Sapporo Station where is the easiest access to all attraction places in Sapporo, Hokkaido and there are lot of choices to be walkable to the grocery stores, the shopping mall, the restaurant, the fish/seafood market, and the Snow Festival Season in Sapporo, Hokkaido
We chose this hotel because it’s in the middle of the JR station and the Odori Park. There are more hotels near the Odori Park, lesser walk for sight seeing but we also wanted to be closer to the JR station when we travel with our luggages. The hotel size is adequate. We had 4 luggages and were able to leave 3 open on the floor. Check in and check out was fast and easy. Our only concern was the breakfast. They had a same set menu of more or less 6 or 7 choices and a buffet Japanese salad bar. We stayed here for 3 nights so it was fine bit might be a problem if we stayed longer. But for kid’s menu, there’s only 1 choice - a beef patty, half cut of sausage, 1 pc tempura, scrambled egg, french fries and a pudding. Our 8 yr old daughter would only eat the half sausage and a bit of the burger patty. The restaurant is also open for smoking at night. We are smokers but we dont want a smoking room during dinner specially with kids. It would have been better if they open the smoking area at 8 or 9pm after the kids have dinner. …
Location is really good. Within walking distance to JR station. The room size is adequate and is able to find 2 large luggage. But the bed is small for two adults. Found it difficult to sleep with not much space to turn. Facilities are quite modern. Amenities provided is good. Our room was located on a high floor so it was very quiet. Staff is friendly but spoken English is rather limited. I expected hotels in Sapporo to at least have reception staff that are able to speak English.
Awesome location, walking distance from the East Gate of the Sapporo main station and all the sights in town. Bonus that there is an entrance to the underground walkways right outside the hotel, which is very handy on days with inclement weather.
I recently stayed one night here. Richmond Hotel Sapporo Ekimae is near the station and is a short walk from the JR station and even closer from exit 22 of the tube station (Sapporo, Toho Line). Front desk staff were courteous and efficient. I arrived in Sapporo in the morning with luggage which the staff took and my luggage was in my room after I checked in. The ‘izakaya’ restaurant on the 1st floor serves good food at reasonable prices and has an all-you-can-drink plan for under ¥1,000.
Stayed here for 3 days for business trip. The location is near the JR station which will take us to Domestic Airport. The location and value for money is superb! Also the staff are very accommodating and nice. I need to do printing and they gave the first 10 pages for free. Will definitely come back and recommend.
The room was very warm but you can open the window to get fresh air in. The rooms are small.. the double bed being right up against the wall and with 2 day packs and 2 roller bags it is not easy to manoeuvre around. Bathroom well stocked with razors, comb etc and mouthwash available from the front desk. However, there is a reason why you are provided fabreze in your room and that is because the restaurant smells of tobacco. Breakfast wasn’t bad as no one was smoking but the smell lingered. We ate in and the second night, three people next to us were smoking as were the ones across from us. Absolutely unhygienic and a throw back to the 1970’s. I had sinus problems as a result. The irony in is you can’t smoke in most public places . smoking rooms are everywhere except here. The location is good but until they sort out the smoking policy in the restaurant I would not recommend staying here unless you are happy to smell of cigarette smoke.…
