Second time staying in this hotel. The hotel is probably full this time, can see the front desk staffs are exhausted during peak check in hours. Need to walk few minutes on the street before one can go down to the understand ground arcade which takes you to train/subway stations and various shops, department stores, restaurants. Room is quite small and difficult to open two 28" suitcases at the same time. The worst part of this hotel is they will not handle the luggage courier delivery for you They will accept incoming luggages delivered by couriers days before you arrive and check into the hotel, but will not call up the couriers to send you luggages to your next destination. So need to take those 28" or 30" suitcase to the courier office which is several minutes walk from the hotel by yourself. This wont pose a problem if the weather is good (not snowing and no icy street). . But walking with heavy luggages in Dec or Jan is risky .

I've stayed at business hotels in Sapporo several times, but this time I chose a hotel close to Sapporo Station. There was an underground passage just a short walk away, which was directly connected to Sapporo Station and the department store. I went to Sapporo Station via the underground passage at night and via the aboveground passage in the morning, and it took about 7 minutes to walk there. I stayed in a standard single (double?) room, which felt spacious, probably because it only had a shower room, and is still in pretty good condition. The wash area was conveniently located inside the bedroom. The large communal bath in the basement was also spacious. Breakfast was at Yayoiken on the first floor, but considering the price, I think it would be enough even if it wasn't a buffet.

Stayed 7 nights and the room had everything that I needed.

Room has TV, air cleaner, hot pot, ice pot, toilet, and shower facility. Room was small, typical of Japanese hotels, but a bit larger than I had thought prior to the check-in. I was told that room is cleaned every fifth day if one stays longer than 5 days. However, I suspect that the room would be cleaned upon request. I was provided with amenities everyday.

The lounge at B1 has a bunch of Japanese books and mangas, vending machines, coffee machine, microwave, and ice machine. The public bath was very clean and well-maintained, which I really enjoyed.

One may have breakfast at Yayoi for 900 yen, but I did not try. Location is almost perfect, very close to Sapporo Station. For a solo traveler, definitely a go for JR Inn!

The hotel location is excellent, just several minutes' walking distance from Sapporo Station, and best of all, you can use the underground pass and use the elevator at exit 23, and from there it is only around 200m to the hotel (or exit 22 if you do not mind walking the stairs, then it is only around 150m to the hotel). We stayed there in winter when it was snowing heavily outside, so we were very grateful for this.
Less than 10 minutes' walk away are famous landmarks such as Sapporo Beer Factory, Sapporo TV Tower and Odori Park.
The staff were all very patient, friendly and helpful.
Room is quite standard sized for a Japanese hotel in the city, small but clean.
I liked the fact that they have a wide range of pillows that you can freely choose from, and also that there are coin-operated washing machines and dryers available.
Our rooms came with breakfast at the adjoining Yayoi restaurant.
I am not sure whether it is standard for this hotel or whether it is because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but there was no buffet, and instead breakfast is available in only 4 fixed options (3 Japanese style and 1 Western style), which is the same every day. For example, no eggs, milk, cereal, etc. as what you might expect from a standard Western style breakfast, and the side dishes for the Japanese style options are also fixed so there is no variety.
It is not a big problem for the average traveller just staying one or two nights, but having more variety would be nice for example when you are staying for more than a few days, or are a fussy eater. Children set meals are also available at very affordable prices.

Staying 1-night in Sapporo before travelling on by train to Kushiro, I selected the JR Inn on the basis of price and proximity to the JR Station. What a good choice it turned out to be! In January with snow on the ground, the hotel is easily accessible from the underground passageway which mirrors the route South of the Toho Subway Line below. The entrance to the hotel is close by Exit 22 from this passageway, although if you have luggage I would suggest you take Exit 23; slightly further away, but has an elevator to street level. Having checked-in early evening, it was only a short walk back towards the Station for a good selection of restaurants for dinner and also a visit to the 38th floor of the JR Tower for a night viewing of Sapporo. The hotel was ideal for my short stop and I happily returned for another 1-night stay, a few days later when heading back to New Chitose Airport.

Second time staying in this hotel. Walking to and from the hotel to train/subway station during winter time is not easy for seniors as the pedestrians path is very slippery. Laundry room is extremely busy. Will not arrange courier pick up of luggage
to be delivered to your next destination. Need to carry those heavy suitcases to the courier office several minutes from the hotel. This may not be a problem in good weather but definitely a challenge during winter time. They do accept luggage to be sent to them by courier before you check in. Will consider other hotels in the neighborhood when visiting Sapporo in future

Location: near the station (7 min walk). A little difficult to find, especially because there is another JR INN nearby. I recommend seeing their website, with photos on how to get there.

Room: beautiful! Right measures for two people and two small / medium suitcases. The bathroom was very nice and equipped with amenities. Equipped with kettle and fridge. I really appreciated the cleaning, attentive to the smallest details !!

Check-in / staff: fast and simple

Price: cheap! I'm very satisfied.

Only bad thing: I would have preferred they gave more variety of tea, not just the green one

Thank you for taking the time to write a review for our hotel. We appreciate all of your kind words and hope that other guests will also share your positive experience. While we do realize that our hotel might be a little bit difficult to find, since there is another JR Inn nearby, we would like to point out that it only takes 1 minute to go to the other one. Hopefully it doesn't cause too much inconvenience for our guests. To address your one point of dissatisfaction regarding the selection of tea available to our guests. Though it is true that there is only one type of tea in your room, we do offer a selection of 6 different kinds of tea in our downstairs lounge. We are confident all our guests will find something they fancy. We will be awaiting your continued patronage. Kind Regards, JR Inn Sapporo South

I love this hotel for its location and it has everything one needs. In the basement, there is washing machine (300yen per wash), dryer (100yen for 20min), coffee, tea, ice machine, all free. In addition it has onsen. In the room, it provides toothbrush n toothpaste, cotton pads, comb, shaver, shampoo, conditioner, body soap. There is a fridge n kettle. To reach hotel, at sapporo station follow sign to Subway blue line n look for exit 23. It is the only exit with elevator near the hotel. Out of lift, turn left n cross road. After Richmond Hotel, turn left n JR Inn is there.
