We booked to stay in a Double Room for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much.

We had taken the Hokkaido Liner bus from Niseko, and the nearest stop to this hotel is the Prince Sapporo Hotel, which is about only 450m walk away. Despite having many heavy luggage with us, we did not find that to be a problem.

This hotel seems to be very popular with tourist group. When we arrived for check-in, there was a big group before us who had “cleaned up” the free toiletries, tea and other freebies laid out by the hotel for guests at the lobby. The front desk staff was very apologetic for the delay we had to wait, and we were given our room very promptly.

The room is not very spacious, but this is not unusual for Japanese standard. However, it has all the modern amenities that are expected of a hotel of the price we have paid for in a city like Sapporo. There is a bathhouse at the hotel, but we did not have time to use it, so I am unable to comment on that. One of the best thing I love about this hotel was its breakfast. It was one of the best we have had during our trip to Japan this time!

The location of the hotel is quite ok – it is convenient for us to explore the busy city by walking. We walked all over the city and visited all the highlights of the Susukino Ice World and the Snow Festival displays at Odori Park.

The staff were helpful when we asked for assistance regarding transportation. We needed to go to the airport very early in the morning upon checking out, and as taxis were very expensive, we walked about 1km from the hotel to the nearest bus stop in Susukino (near Nikka and opposite Mercure Sapporo) to catch the bus that goes to the airport.

Overall, we are very happy with our stay at this hotel for the price we paid.

We enjoyed the stay very much. The lobby was quite nice. The room was larger than we feared and very clean. We were provided free bottles of water. Room was cleaned every fourth day since the check-in: towels and water bottles were provided upon request in the meantime. The public bath at the top floor (17th) was so nice and impressive that we went there every night. There are also a microwave and an ice machine at the top floor, which was very convenient. Not sure if they serve breakfast.

Location was great and most of the milestones within Sapporo city especially Susukino area was within a walking distance from the hotel. The only negative was that one of the front staffs was a bit blunt to address issues. She may not have understood English well. Overall, I don't think the current ranking really justifies what Granbell Hotel is. I will definitely go back if the price is right.

Modern convenient hotel near the shopping street, I chose because Dormy inn didn't have twin room available. We stayed 3 nights recovering from jet lag starting our vacation. Room was insanely small 170 square feet, had to store luggage on floor under bed. Probably the smallest twin room I've stayed in even for Japan standards. Shower was claustrophobic but I used the Spa to shower. They only cleaned on the third day and did not touch the beds or tables because our personal items were on them. There should be a warning to pack up everything into your suitcase if you want your room cleaned. Breakfast was phenomenal. They had Japanese and western offerings. Everyday they had Hokkaido specialties to try both meat and seafood. It was a wonderful opportunity to sample dishes. Coffee machine at breakfast and the room coffee was instant-yuck. 7-11 is next door thankfully. Front desk staff was top notch, extremely helpful with my inquiries. They hire great people. Spa bath had quite a bit of hair, outside bath a lot of bugs, but I was happy to use it anyway. That area could use some work. Definitely an upgrade from your Dormy Inns. For reference, this my third trip to Japan, first to Sapporo. I’m a single mom traveling with my teen daughter, carry on luggage only. We are from NYC, used to small spaces, both thin. This was tight for 3 nights otherwise pleasant. I would book this hotel chain again based on the quality of their staff.

Nice hotel In a great location and a lovely spa room. The beds are tremendous and staff are friendly. One thing I would say is if you are a westerner , the breakfast is quite different to what you are used to, but I guess it’s nice to try different things.

I got a injury by the hotel equipment (still i struggling spending the life by this). The issue itself came from equipment but care after the issue happened by hotel was quit terrible. A hotel staff "required" me to go hospital immediately and mandatory to get medical certificate for escalate issue in the hotel internally then I did it by my expense (in Japan, the certification is expensive because outside of health insurance). After I submitted certification to the hotel, they entered internal consideration about next action and how to compensate to victim (myself) and spend 3 week to just make answer to me. In the end, the answer said no compensate even certification expense that required by themselves.
Actually I don't need to require money as a compensation like a troll for them because able to pay money by myself for cure but their attitude is extremely bad as a service provider and I totally disappointed them. I can say just waste a time during visit in Sapporo thanks to them.
My Strong recommendation is YOU DON'T STAY THE HOTEL if you have any plan to come Sapporo and spend good time. (even Japanese person encountered this, more worse things should be happened for non-Japanese person)
