Reception was professional and quick. The staff are polite, friendly and do their best to communicate with limited english. It would help if I spoke Japanese, but sadly I don’t.
The room was large as booked and met expectations. While the size is reasonable compared to many others in Japan, the configuration is just adequate being long and narrow, with limited windows.
The bathroom was large and had a separate shower and bath. A warm toilet seat is a great touch in a very cold environment especially in a cold February winter. The bathroom is well appointed.
Wifi worked well and is complimentary with our room. The TV is of a good size, but did not have any English speaking channels. There were about six Japanese-only channels. They play nice soothing, mostly American, music in the public areas.
Location was ok and about 10-15 minutes easy walking to the city centre. Unfortunately in February and March many of the footpaths can be covered in snow making walking a challenge with many slippery sections. Be careful.
I didn’t see nor use the Concierge services.
Airconditioning is a bit noisy at night and can be heard while trying to sleep. However, it works well and keeps the room warm.
The room rate was well below normal due to it being winter and the Coronavirus which has stopped many tourists.
Overall a pleasant experience thanks to the friendly staff. Happy to stay here again. Thank you.
Not the most amazing place, most likely wouldn't stay here again however.
Decor was a little 90's and whilst maintained, looked tired. The room itself was huge, by Japanese standards, and makes for a nice change in a country of boxlike hotel rooms. The hotel is located about 20-25 minutes walk from Odori park and the TV tower, although the hotel is in the red light district, so makes the walk a little off putting at night.
They offer free LAN internet in the rooms, wifi in the lobby only.
For around $70 a nite, there are better options closer to the center of town.
Hotel staff were friendly and patient. I was the only one in the group who could speak Japanese so my aunts kept throwing questions at me to ask the front-desk staff and the guy who attended to me was very accommodating even through my aunts kept cutting our conversations off with their questions.
Very satisfied with our rooms. They were clean and spacious and the bathrooms in that hotel are huge. We have a shower and a bathtub complete with good quality soap and shampoo.
we had a mini suite, there was a small lounge area with a large sofa and a coffee table. there were two single beds and an extra cot that was the same size as the normal beds.
there is a wonderful view of a giant ferris that lights up at night from the room that was assigned to us.
the toilet was huge, almost as big as the room, it had separate shower and bath. the bath even had 2 different settings on the jazcuzzi. the shower had 5 shower heads on different heights.
the only draw back was the smell of stale smoke, they had an ionizer in the room which helped to reduce the smell quite a bit.
another drawback is the distance. although it is within an 1/2 hour walk from sapporo station, it is not easy to walk that distance with 9 bags and 3 people. the taxi fare was reasonable, 1000 yen to the station.
the big plus point was english channels!! i got to watch AXN!! and directly at the door is a lawson where you can get snacks at 2 am.
• Big room for Japan standards
• 5 mins walk from train station
• Quiet neighborhood
• Close to Susukino, Odori, and Nakajima Koen park
• Newly renovated rooms
• Comfortable stay
• Across 24hrs convenience store
• Friendly and efficient staff (front desk and housekeeping)
What hotel needs to improve on:
• Lacks amenities
- no safe deposit in the room; you need to leave valuables in concierge
