The Excel Tokyu brand of hotels has proven to be successful for our one night stays. Sapporo has a couple and we chose one conveniently and centrally located. Parks, shopping and restaurants are nearby. Walking is safe. We took the Numboku subway from the JR station for 220yen to the third stop. From there to the hotel was about.25 miles or a 10 minute walk. The room was clean and cozy. Nothing special but sufficient for the price.
- a walking distance to the city - convenience store located nearby to the hotel - big, clean and comfortable room - room has sofa - however, breakfast table is using round table, not convenience - when snowing many umbrella can be borrow
A good hotel offering clean, comfortable accommodation with all facilities. Well equipped bedrooms and bathrooms. An interesting and appealing choice of foods. Wide spacious reception area with shops where the goods are competitively priced and often cheaper than in nearby attractions !! The hotel is conveniently situated for getting around the town and also for visiting restaurants, shops and local attractions.
Love this hotel. It seems newly renovated. Very clean and spacious. The bath area resembles those found in onsens where one sits on a stool to bathe. There is a bathtub too. Breakfast spread is adequate. Service from staff is exceptionally good. Highly recommended hotel.
We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable, and fully equipped, although the bathroom was quite small and felt a little dated. We were on an upper floor, but the lifts are quite efficient. The breakfast buffet is very good and caters for both Japanese and Western tastes. The hotel location is slightly outside of the town centre, but it is close to a subway station, so it is easy to get around Sapporo. Nakajima park is close by (it can be seen from some of the hotel rooms) and is a pleasant place for a stroll. Staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful.
I have now stayed at the Excel on several visits to Sapporo. It is great value and excellent staff. The location is also very convenient for quick access to the subway lines for moving about the city and area. I stayed back in February for the Snow Festival which was brilliant. I was there again for the Rugby World Cup and the hotel had a great setup in their Beer Garden to accommodate fans.
Good location, relatively central with great amenities and comfortable rooms. Pleasant business hotel in a nice, quiet part of town, good size rooms for families as well, will stay again when I am back in Sapporo!
Hotel room is clean including the bathroom. Relatively of good size compared with other hotel rooms in Japan. Walking distance from a lot of restaurants, grocery and shopping area. Breakfast was good. I love their miso soup and Hokkaido milk. Staff were courteous and helpful.
Stayed 2 nights there with my family. Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent breakfast buffet. Staff were friendly and helpful. Located close to good restaurants and Nakajima park which is great for kids to run around. The 1500 yen per day parking fee was a surprise though.
The good: the room and facilities are good. Breakfast was not bad. We had a great buffet lunch at L'arbe, on the ground floor which we paid for ourselves. The bad: Room service number is not the easiest to find. My daughter threw up on our second night and all they did was come and took away the soiled blanket, with the staff looking quite disgusted at the mess. They did not offered us a new blanket or ask after the welfare of my little girl, least of all offered any form of assistance. I asked for laundry service as she had vomited on her sleeping bag as well, and was told there was NONE?! What sort of four star hotel is this? The whole stay was reasonably pleasant except for this. And because of their lack of empathy, I will never stay at this hotel again.
