My mistake booking a smoking room, unfortunately could not put us in non smoking was booked out, however they moved us next morning with no reminding. Much appreciated as a smoking room in Japan makes an ash tray smell fresh. Gag.
Breakfast was fantastic, one of the best, and another reason we like hotels in Sapporo as they try that bit harder. Salads crisp, scrambled eggs soft and very yellow, and juicy.Snow crab and egg custard perfect, and morish. Miso soup full of flavour, not watered down. Really the whole meal, in almost tapis plate style, was the best we have had in the many trips we have done to Japan.
The Onsen is really a hot pool resembling an Onsen, but still better than nothing, and soaks the tired muscles in hot water. Love the shampoo bar (tried the "protect" brand and the menthol really warmed up my head, thought what hair I had left, might just leave too - but all was well). A nice scrub down offering more room than the rooms bathroom, so hot tub area very good.
Would recommend, and so close to JR etc. via underground mall (winter bonus). We have always stayed down Suskino area, so appreciate being closer to central Sapporo.

Spent 3 nights at Hotel Hokke Club Sapporo and found it to be perfect. Strategically located between the Sapporo station and Odori Park, just meters away from the Sapporo Clock Tower and Sapporo TV tower. Hokkaido Government building and Botanic Gardens are very close by too. One can also walk right up to the Sapporo Beer Museum and down to the Tanukikoji Shopping Street. It was beautiful walking around with the snow around but can be slippery at times. Many shopping malls in and around the Sapporo station.
Staff were very polite and friendly. Room was small as expected in Japan but clean and comfy.
Very happy with the hotel and highly recommended.

Me, my husband and my parents stayed at the Hokke Club in Sapporo and we all a very enjoyable stay. It is very clean, good service, nice public bath and fantastic location! We even used the public bath even if it's just regular water and not a mineral onsen. We didn't have anything to complain about.

Pros:

- location. Short talk to JR Sapporo Station (a lot of food, and the JR Tower Observatory)
- Walking distance to Odori Park and Susukino district for nightlife and more bars/restaurants
- The Bus to the Sapporo Beer Garden is right outside the hotel
- Walking distance to the Clock Tower plus tram stop to get to Mt. Moira
- Strong, reliable wifi

Tips:
- before visiting the JR Tower observatory make sure to grad a coupon from the reception/brochure area. I believe there is also a coupon for the Mr. Moira ropeway as well

- Consider getting the Tram Pass for one day. I way is 240Y and a day pass is only 300Y. You get your money back if you just take a roundtrip ride.

- Ask reception desk to make a beer garden reservation for you

This hotel surpassed my expectations. When booking it was my third or fourth preference, and I only booked this when I missed out on other hotels. But for the price this hotel is really incredible.

Several blocks from Sapporo train station, very close to multiple restaurants and convenience stores. The room we got was large by Japanese standards, with a very large bed and ample room for luggage. The only downfall was no room safe.
Despite this being an older hotel, it was more than modern enough for us and very clean and well appointed. The reception staff even speak some English.

The air con is powerful, there is ample floor space for multiple luggage pieces plus a full size wardrobe, and the bed was very large. Kettle, good hairdryer in room, plus button-up yukatas that are convenient. The room is impeccably clean.

It is only a few blocks walk from anywhere you'd want to be - the trains and subways, restaurants, convenience stores, Odori Park.

I would definitely stay here again. Well done Hokke Sapporo.

Stayed a total of 4 nights (one separate twin rm and one single room). Hotel location is great and the room is clean and tidy. Easy to access via underground walkway - Take #3 exit at the Sita Sapporo builiding. As there were melted snow at one cross junction, it might be a bit slippery. So be careful with luggage and travel with young / elderly.

Every room has individual air-con / heating switch and an air purifier plus humidifier. The trick to have nice temperature in the room (between 20-22 degree air-con) is... Not to turn on the air-con/heating in the room at all, but turn on the air purifier and just let the hotel centralize air-con system to stabilize the temperature in the room.

I stayed in the single room (208) which is next to the stairs, which gave me quite an constant amount of noise on a Sat morning because of thin walls. While I stayed in the twin room the other night which was totally quiet.

It's 1/3 of the cost than staying at JR Tower hotel, a good recommendation if one just need a room to sleep for the night.

We stayed for a night before starting out road trip around Hokkaido. Not too far from Sapporo Station. Friendly & accommodating staff with basic English. Rooms were small, clean & cosy. Decent sized toilet. Lots of food options & convenience stores nearby. Main draw would be the location. Near the clock tower, government house, couple of stations & Odori park. I liked that they didn't mind storing the luggage even though we checked out. A pleasant stay.

My Mother and I shared a twin room here for the few days before and into the 2012 snow festival. It was clean, had great service (staff spoke good english and were always on had when needed) and we slept well.

We had a non-smoking room with large comfortable beds (I like them rather firm), nice comfy pillows and enough blankets to be comfortable given the (excessive) use of the aircon (which you can turn down if you get too hot).
The twin room had the standard cabin bathroom of most japanese hotels which was immaculately clean and had nice free amenities (shampoo, conditioner, soap etc).

The room had a TV which we enjoyed. We bought french patisserie quality cake from the basement floor of the Tokyu, walked the 2 short blocks down the road to the hotel and had a lovely afternoon/evening watching sumo and eating our treats before heading back to the JR-shopping area for dinner. There was no access to a microwave but we did manage to heat up our melt and consume fondue for 2 using the kettle and a tea cup.

Given when we booked (less than 6 months before the festival!) I was thrilled with the room and the price (JTB negotiated Japanican price). When we booked most of the hotels had no rooms e.g. Richmond, ANA, Mercure (only had hugely expensive suites left) etc but I was really happy to get such a great room (it was really quiet, had a window I could open, comfy, plenty of room (for japan)) at a very affordable price.

There is a coin laundry inc dryer and sento (gender segregated baths) in the basement.

I definitely recommend this and plan to stay there again.

It's my first time to Japan and visited the big city in North Japan, Sapporo.

Location:
This hotel located approximately 500-600 metres from Sapporo Station, the station you'll arrive if you comes from New Chitose Airport.
Time distance approximately less than 10 minutes, of course depends on how fast/slow you are walking.

Service:
Staffs doesn't understand nor speak English.
But they do understand body languages, or at least they will try to understand you.
Arrived 1.5 hours early, unfortunately they can't provide me with early check-in. So, I changed clothes, take a walk around the city and leave my luggage with the staff.
Would be great if the management provide English training, though for me it is not necessarily a must.

Room:
As expected, the room I have was small but sufficient for 2 people. No view though, unfortunately.
It was cleaned, comfort and nothing to complaint from me.

Surroundings:
Its location was superb. A lot of restaurant nearby and conbini (convenience store). You'll have nothing to worry about if you're hungry in the middle of the night.

Overall:
I very much like this hotel. I would stay here again if I have the chance to visit this cold town again.

My family stayed at Hotel Hokke Club from 10 to 13, 2016. Excellent location, clean rooms, spacious room for a Japanese hotel, gracious and friendly staff. You must try this hotel in your next visit. I am a loyal member of this brand because of our wonderful experience during our vacation. Keep it up. Job well done to the staff. Cheers

If I am not mistaken they have laundry service but not a laundromat. However when I was there they were renovating so not sure if they have added one. You can call them. They do have English speaking front desk staff.
