Location of the hotel is excellent being directly connected to the main Sapporo Station. The hotel lifts are connected to the underground shopping streets which means we didn't need to venture outside in the cold to get back to our room.

The room was small but expected for Japanese hotel room standard.
The bed was comfortable.
The room was mainly clean but the toilet didn't seem to have been properly wiped down after the departure of the last occupants.

Staff are very helpful and courteous to guests.
Special mention to concierge staff, Hoshikawa san and front desk staff, Yamaji san. They have been a great help to minimize my travel difficulties arising from a sudden flight cancellation due to the Covid-19 virus situation in Hokkaido.
Room is excellent and comfortable and always clean. My appreciation to the housekeeping staff.

I traveled to Sapporo with my college aged son. Location location location, right across from Sapporo JR station, tons of shopping and eating nearby. Take the elevator to basement level directly from the hotel, there is an underground shopping center and food street. In Hokkaido, you do not need to walk outside in the winter. Everything is underground. The room is small and smells of smoke. But since this was during Japanese school vacation, the hotel is packed with Japanese students on athletic trips. There is no free breakfast. Breakfast buffet is on the ground floor with a fee. But you do not need it since you are surrounded by other choices.

Location is great! You can get to this hotel all underground. Land in New Chitose Airport, take a train to Sapporo Station and go straight into the hotel. Sapporo station has all the food and shopping you need.

Service is excellent! Big smiles, very prompt, checking-in luggage, all perfect! Room was hot and they brought a fan to the room within minutes.

Hotel is older. Booked a standard twin (~$60/night). The hotel looked very modern from the outside so I booked it thinking it was remodeled. The rooms are older and the internet (even when it wasn't packed) was slow. I got an unstable 20mbps connection. Used my pocket wifi instead.

Air Conditioning was shut off for some reason. It was hot inside the room. You can't open the window so, we felt trapped. They gave us a fan to use which worked, but dried us up.

No views. We booked a twin size room but there was no view.

It's overall not a bad hotel. It was quiet, workers were efficient, and the location was great. We got a twin size for the space, but it still felt small and stuffy from the lack of AC. I would try elsewhere next time.

Ideal hotel for a required city stopover when heading to the ski field. Easy bus connection from Chitose Airport both domestic and international terminals. Central location in Sapporo city to trains, underground, restaurants, bookshop for city winter exploring. Free bus to Rusutsu Ski Resort right outside and close to Niseko Bus. We do 2 nights in and out for our snowboarding trips for city exploring and this is the hotel for this. Rooms compact but comfortable, check in and checkout easy. Highly recommended

Take the airport express to Sapporo and exit via the West Exit. Once you leave the turnstiles, follow the sign that say South exit (ie turn to the left). Walk straight (Daimaru will be on the right and Stella Place will be on the left). Once you are out of the station, you will see the hotel on the right (opposite Daimaru). Lobby is on level 7. The hotel is also connected to the subway via B1 through Apia West, otherwise Exit 3 would be the nearest from Sapporo station.
The Single Rooms are very small (not surprising for hotels in Japan). It fits a comfortable Queen size bed, an armchair, small table and a bathroom with tub. Room has a humidifier which is good to maintain moisture. Luggages need to be closed otherwise there is not much space to move around. Only one bath towel is given, request for extra if you need. Check in is at 2pm, and like all hotels in Japan, they won't let you check in early even if they have rooms. They charge JPY1,080 per hour for early check in, if you are willing to pay and desperately need a room to refresh yourself.
The hotel lobby sells some popular Japanese snacks, you may want to get some to bring home.

Suggested itineraries:
Day 1 - take the Tozai Line (yellow) from Sapporo to Miyanosawa to visit the 白色恋人 (Chocolate) Factory - Shiroi Koibito Park - Factory. About 20min (Pasmo card can be used in Sapporo) ride. Follow the blue signs throughout the station (near exit 5) which will guide you to Sapporo Lifelong Learning Centre, once you are at the Centre's exit, Turn Right and you will see a light red building. That is the factory. Entrance fee is JPY600. The tour should take you about 1.5 hrs to 2 hrs, and you will catch a glimpse of how they make the famous cookie.

Day 2 - take the JR Line to Otaru. Each way cost about JPY640 and about 30min ride. Once you exit the station, the bus terminal is on the right. Go to berth 5, and wait for bus 9 which will take you to the foot of Mt Tengu. The bus cost JPY220 one way. Note the hourly departure time at Mt Tengu rope way station to plan your return trip to Otaru. The rope way (via gondola) cost JPY1,040 (return) and will bring you up to the mountain for a good view of the Otaru city and port.
Once you finish the Mt Tengu, return to Otaru to explore the Otaru Canal and the harbours. Near the end of the canal there is a famous restaurant that serves very tasty Japanese seafood rice. Not cheap but worth it. Restaurant is called Sawasakisuisan Kaisenshokudo

Day 3 - if you are lazy to plan, join the day tour. Near the hotel at Esta building (you will see a big stairway that leads you from the taxi stand to the building, the day tour centre is there) It has tours to Furona, Shiroi Koibito Park, Mt Okura, Lake Shikotsu and Lake Toya Tour, be early as it can get really crowded.

I booked a room for 3 nights from 11 to 14 Feb 2016 just because of its location and the exterior look of the building when I walked by in spring 2015.
When I made the reservation on 21 April 2015 for a room in Feb 2016, I did specially request for a non-smoke room. However during checking in, the receptionist just simply said they did not have non-smoking room avaiable and would put us in a room without smell on the smoking floor. What a joke!! The whole floor was covered with disgusting tobacco smell. It was totally unacceptable and proofed the hotel was mismanaged.
The room is super tiny that we didn't even have enough room to open our suitcase. With the room rate of US$150+ without breakfast / night, sure could have a lot of better choice around that area.
So, beware when you are about to think of this hotel.

Before going into the specifics, I'd like to say that the best decision I've ever made on this trip is to pay for the Gracery hotel breakfast buffet every single morning I was here. This may seem like a trivial comment, but most travellers would like to venture out and sample different food as much as they can, but in terms of well-being, the breakfast spread here is unbeatable and value for money. Getting breakfast here is also convenient when there is an early train or bus to catch but there usually is a queue for seats in the dining hall at 7am. So make sure to get breakfast at Gracery.

We booked triple sharing room and it was decent sized and comfortable. The only issue was the air conditioning was weak and the room was stuffy at some points. Check in and out is seamless and the front desk can keep your luggage for you if you need to travel out of Sapporo but will return back for a short period of time to claim your luggage.

The hotel is comnected to an underground mall and several other mega malls by the main lift via basement 1. There are at least 2 food halls spread across this underground arcade and shoppers might want to dedicate a day to explore the entire area. More importantly, the airport limousine bus stop is conveniently located a few steps outside the hotel entrance by the mainroad. There is the option of taking the airport express train to get to Gracery via JR Sapporo station but if you have heavy baggage and kids, the bus might be a wiser choice.

We found it easier to access the JR Sapporo station via the mainroad pedestrain crossing because navigating the underground maze was confusing at first. You can get almost anything you need at the shopping malls opposite Gracery but be warned that most shops close at 8pm. When we arrived at 10pm on our first day, we had absolutely no food to eat. The Sapporo bus terminal is located opposite Gracery and various sightseeing tours can be purchased here. Do research in advance to obtain info on English tours otherwise most of it caters to the locals.

If you are a book lover, Gracery is the ultimate choice for you. Books Kinokuniya is across the road, a 2 storey building dedicated to books and a starbucks on-site. In summary, Gracey is a good choice for first-time travellers to Sapporo.

The hotel in on the South Exit of JR Sapporo Station with underground walkway connecting between B1 floor of hotel's building and the station... so you can walk indoor warming on cold and snowing day. The hotel is in great location for shopping. Daimaru & Esta department store are in walking distance.

The room is not big compared to American-size hotel but at least the standard double bed room can fit 2 persons plus two of 25 inches size luggage and still has some space to walk around.

Every hotel in Japan (that I have been to) will provide pajamas, humidifier , shampoo &conditioner& shower gel in big pump bottle, cotton buds and all that jazz... one thing they are missing is body lotion.

Staffs are helpful, you can ask the front desk to call for restaurant reservation. it is better to let Japanese talk to Japanese .

They also only check in at 3pm, no early check in.

You really couldn't ask for a better location than this hotel. It is directly linked to the Sapporo train station through a covered walkway making getting here from the airport really convenient, even for a non Japanese speaking tourist visiting Sapporo for the first time. Even better, we discovered that the airport bus comes right in front of the hotel. It is also across the road from Daimaru and other malls making shopping and restaurants literally a stone's throw away. Sure the room is a bit small, but it is efficient and modern. Everything works well. Breakfast restaurant like the room is cramped but it has a decent spread. But with so many options around, there is no need to get the breakfast option. Certainly would recommend the hotel.

I suppose you can ask the hotel if you give them plenty of notice (and if your stay include breakfast). Otherwise you can buy bento box at the train station

Not sure if anyone answered this, the rooms are reasonable if you are both petite sized, but I would definitely recommend a small twin instead.
