The idea of this center is to spread the word about the danger and horror of nuclear weapons. We had the chance to talk to a hibaksha (a-bomb survivor) and get a tour through the peace park. The location of the accomodation isn't right in the center of the city but not hard to find with the information provided. The...

World Friendship Center offers comfortable accomodation, good breakfast, friendly staff and the opportunity to know more about what happened in Hiroshima and hear about it from survivors of the A bomb. Their peace park tour is also great.

Spent 3 nights at WFC. Excellent hospitality from Maggie and Bernd which included maps, eating out suggestions and local site-seeing recommendations. Tatami room was basic but perfect for our needs. Comfortable common area. A bit of a walk (15 minutes) to local transportation but not a problem. Highlight of our visit, to both HIroshima and Japan, was a WFC organized...

On our already emotional trip to Hiroshima, it was a real pleasure to stay at WFC instead of a more conventional hotel or hostel. The directors are warm, friendly and passionate about honoring the vision of the Center's founder. It's a communal experience, where you can make pleasant conversations at breakfast with the directors and the other guests, read a...

I spent 2 nights at the WFC and did both of the activities they offer, a talk given by a hibakusha and a guided tour of the Peace Park. The accommodation was very nice, my tatami room was, for 1 person, spacious with a comfortable futon and air-con. The talk was fascinating (as you'd expect) and well presented with a...

This was such an amazing experience I am so pleased my friend and I stayed here. The hibaksuha talk is a must. This was an incredibly humbling experience and the lady who shared her story with us was an incredible woman. This was one of the highlights of my trip to Japan. Hotel/hostel is basic but cosy, great breakfast, simple...

We - a family of four (2 kids, 2 adults) - just spent 2 nights at the WFC. The directors, Maggie and Bernd and warm, friendly and welcoming persons and helped us around (try the little Okonomiyaki restaurant next door!) The place itself feels homey and all guests have breakfast together which creates a nice atmosphere and provides a basis...

When my husband and I planned our one day/night visit to Hiroshima and came across this location it seemed like the perfect opportunity to have the history rich experience we were looking for in the city. Admittedly we were a bit worried that the experience of hearing the Hibakusha's story would take the wind out of our fun vacation time...

If you are going to Hiroshima you have to stay here! The current directors Burnt and Maggie are so nice and friendly, and so knowledgeable about all the facts and will answer all your questions during the lovely morning breakfast. Being able to speak to an A-bomb survivor is a unique and incredibly touching experience, thanks again Soho-san for your...

Our room was traditional Japanese style futon on a tatami mat floor. Air conditioned and comfortable. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable helping us with our enquiries and making sure we got the most out of our trip to Hiroshima. The WFC included a tour of the Peace Park and a talk with a survivor of the Atomic Bomb....
