Our room was traditional Japanese style futon on a tatami mat floor. Air conditioned and comfortable. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable helping us with our enquiries and making sure we got the most out of our trip to Hiroshima. The WFC included a tour of the Peace Park and a talk with a survivor of the Atomic Bomb....

My daughter and I stayed at the World Friendship Center for almost 3 weeks during the 70th anniversary events in Hiroshima in late July and early August 2015. We loved our large, airy traditional Japanese room, the incredible support of the staff who helped us immeasurably, and the fascinating people we met there, both other guests and featured speakers. I...

This is more than just an accommodation - which I had not realized when I was booking this. I found out after going there. You learn so much about how and why this place started, how significant the peace message in Hiroshima is. Bernd and Maggie are just exceptional people. We got to speak to them at breakfast and they...

WFC Is a non-profit organisation that doubles as a cosy homestay. It is managed by a couple of American volunteers who change every few years. The location is quiet: about 20 minutes walk from the Peace Park. Guests sleep on futons in private rooms with tatami floors. The sole bathroom is shared by all guests. The highly competitive room rates...

When we arrived we were immediately invited to a Hibakusha (atomic bomb survivor) talk, and then managed to be taken on a tour of the Peace Park organised by them soon afterwards. Both speaker and guide were incredible and we got a superb grounding in the history and horror of this pivotal 20th Century event. The place itself is clean,...

The hotel is a 15 minute walk or a short tram ride from the museum and city centre. The staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. There are many English-speaking staff available, provide great meals, and are very knowledgeable about the attractions and other tourist activities in the city. The centre is also an important place for peace advocacy in...

It is a small hostel with a big mission. Facilities are perfect - Japanese style rooms, air con, wi fi, comfortable futons, laundry, common area with a very rich library, breakfast included. But the most important - if booked in advance, you can get in touch with survivors, you an get additional insight in the atomic bomb impact and in...

I went to Japan for 16 days and this was the most memorable experience. It is like staying at a relatives house, you have your own room but share the bathroom. The hosts are very accommodating and kind, helping you with whatever you need. What makes this place the tops however is the connection you receive by talking with the...

We had a great stay at the world friendship centre for two nights on our visit to Hiroshima. The place was so clean and one of the best sleeps we've had in japan! The location was brilliant, close to the peace park and good local restaurants. We thought the best thing about it was meeting the directors, Richard and Xinia,...

We stayed for a couple of nights this week and had a great experience. More like a b&b in someone's home, we were made to feel very welcome. The best part was the opportunity to engage with their local volunteers and experience a peace tour and hear a story from a-bomb survivor. Such a privilege - thank you.
