We treated ourselves to this ryokan to experience a historic building in comfort and were delighted by our stay. We were upgraded to a beautiful, large room full of authentic features and looking onto the gorgeous garden. The hosts were very welcoming, all facilities were spotless and we enjoyed the Japanese bath and sumptuous breakfast.
I am very happy that I decided to stay at this Ryokan. Located rather in a hidden yet central location, I could really relax after traveling through Kyoto using the public transportation systems located very close to the Ryokan. After coming back from my day trips, I was greeted by the friendly Ryokan owner who took very good care of me and made sure everything was perfect for my stay. While the weather was not great for most of the time during my stay, the rainy scenery in the backyard created a very calming ambiance and I felt extremely relaxed in this atmosphere. It was exactly what I needed. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. As this is an old property and used to be a regular home, the rooms are all different and each has it’s own charm. If I get to visit Kyoto again, I would be happy if I could discover another one of their rooms. …
Very friendly stay in October 2020 at the Ryokan. Very well situated near a subway station. This is a traditional Japanese accommodation so if you come from a foreign country check to know what to expect...
Amazing room and breakfast make sure to get the traditional Japanese bath room as well!!! But me and my gf didn’t realise we didn’t pay for it when we booked it through booking.com so some of our budget got eaten into but oh well. Overall was awesome!!
We stayed for 3 nights, wished it was longer. Everything was just great! The room, food, service, people, overall atmosphere, and proximity to central Kyoto. We were able to walk to sights or public transportation.
