Staying at Chic Machiya Stay Nuno was like being at home (but better!). Rie was wonderful and a natural host. The room (twin) was lovely and super comfortable and roomy. Beautiful bed linen. Roomy bathroom with walk in shower. The continental breakfast was thoughtfully prepared...More
Located in a residential area and only 3 rooms makes this stay such a winner because you can be just a little part of the Japanese life and mix it with the locals.

This B&B is lovely. Located in northern Kyoto, in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. It is away from the crazyness of touristy areas, surrounded by temples very worth a visit. Nonetheless, it is very well communicated both by subway and bus.

A district with a long textile heritage, ancient Kyoto is still alive in the Nishijin District. Studded with its weaving factories, tea houses, and onsen, the neighborhood is charming and peaceful with a self-possessed air. Less traveled than other parts of the city, it is a district where you can take it at your own pace. Visitors can explore the many weaving and cloth houses, the free kimono shows, and the many
shops selling traditional clothing and goods. Showcasing architecture with sloping roofs and wooden reliefs dating to decades past, the streets in the Nishijin District transport you back in time, making them a joy to wander.

Thanks so much for your enquiry. We are situated in Nishijin district which is one of the best rated area in Kyoto. Many Western tourists like the area because it is away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre but is easily accessble. You can take a bus to Gion from the bus stop nearby (3 minutes walk from here), approx 20 minutes ride or take a subway from the nearest subway station, approx 13 minutes walk from here and 5 minutes ride to Shijo, then you can walk to Gion.
My B&B is listed on some major accommodation site so pls see the reviews that some of my guests wrote.
