Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, Miru Kyoto Nishiki has won the hearts of many for its exceptional location, mere steps away from Nishiki Market and Gion's charm. Guests frequently commend the hotel for its cleanliness, often comparing it to a spa, and laud the traditional Japanese atmosphere that pervades their stay.
The spacious, comfortable rooms are a highlight, although some lack natural light. The friendly staff and thoughtful touches, like complimentary croissants, are repeatedly praised, ensuring that despite a few missing amenities, guests find the hotel to be a great value.

Detailed Reviews
The Miru's five-star ratings are truly well-deserved. We felt so fortunate to have found this gem in Kyoto. The staff was welcoming and truly went out of their way to take care of our every need. We had originally booked for 3 nights and ended up shifting other reservations so that we could stay for 5.
The decor is stylish and minimal, the bed, linens and pillows were super comfy. The bathroom was a bit small but suited us fine.
The location is perfect, a short walk from the Nishiki market and within close reach to trendy boutiques, restaurants in all price ranges, an amazing bakery (Walder) and a few blocks from our now favourite craft beer taproom (Umineko).
We travelled during Covid19 and felt very comfortable with the hotel's efforts to maintain a clean and safe environment. Thanks for a great stay Miru- we look forward to seeing you again!

During our three weeks of travel in Japan, Nest at Nishiki was the nicest hotel we stayed in. It's the type of place where you immediately feel at home, tucked away on a quiet side street within walking distance of restaurants, bars and shops as well as subway and bus lines for when you venture out.
Facilities are first rate with everything you need to feel right at home: very comfortable beds in a clean and quiet room with en-suite bathroom and good quality toiletries. Our 'superior' room had a kitchenette with microwave, fridge, kettle and Nespresso coffee machine and comfortable sitting area with small sofa, desk, chair and even a free to use smartphone. For laundry, there was a mini ironing board in the room as well as washing machine and tumble dryer self-service with free to use detergent.
The kindness and warmth of the hotel staff was second to none and they did everything they could to make our stay in Kyoto a pleasant one. Our new friend Sachiko :) gave us some great museum tips and advice for day trips. When we return to Kyoto, Nest at Nishiki is where we will stay.

What a great hotel to stay in and what a great area of Kyoto to be located in! The area is so beautiful with its quiet little backstreets and the hotel is about 100 metres from Nishiki market. We had previously stayed around the Kyoto station area, but never again! We stayed for a week in Kyoto and this hotel is very affordable and so nice with such great staff who will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are beautiful and fairly roomy with even a small kitchenette with Microwave. The bed was SOOOO comfortable and the room so quiet! I could not recommend this place any higher.

This location is uniquely situated in the heart of Kyoto giving access to all manner of shopping and historic locations, temples, shrines, etc.. It is quite close to Kyoto Station giving access to greater Japan as well.
More than the facilities and location, this staff is exceptional and so very eager to help a lost traveler with limited Japanese. The staff is a reflection of the manager who is a first class hotelier that has instilled the service of a five star location into a charming and cozy facility.
Book here. Book often. You will not be disappointed!

Our stay at the Miru Kyoto Nishiki in a premium room was wonderful. It’s all about location and we found the proximity to Nishiki market brilliant. We easily navigated from the accommodation to the train station for a day trip to Nara and were able to walk and catch public transport around Kyoto easily from the location. The room itself was generous in size and we appreciated the small touches of the bottled water, the treat of a croissant each morning and the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The bed and pillows were exceptionally comfortable and service at the hotel was welcoming and friendly. Overall, we found the area to be quiet and slept soundly in the comfortable rooms. A lovely stay and I would happily recommend this accommodation.

Dear Winkyro, Thank you very much for staying at our hotel and kindly writing us such an amazing and detailed review. We couldn't be happier to hear that you were able to enjoy your stay and that you were able to explore close to the hotel, like the Nishiki market, but also farther away, like Nara. Thank you as well for praising our facilities and services. We will strive to continue to provide such service in the future as well and your kind review motivates us even more. We are thankful that we could be part of your trip to Japan and hope to see you again someday! Best wishes, Miru Kyoto Nishiki

Very friendly, English-speaking reception with excellent communication skills. They were very helpful and accommodating. The room was very, very comfortable, modern, and there was an incredible attention to detail in terms of the various items in the room and also the housekeeping. We felt very comfortable there, especially since we had a long stay there. The location is very good too. Sure, there are places with a slightly better location, but I would definitely say that the balance of good location, very comfortable accommodation, attention to detail, and great service make this one of the best choices in Kyoto. I would highly recommend this hotel, and we will certainly stay here again next time we return.

This small hotel ‘punches above its weight’ in terms of comfort, hospitality and value. Travelling with our adult son we had two rooms: a premium room & a single tatami room. The premium room, while compact, was well organised with a little sitting area and nook with microwave, kettle etc. Daily croissants were delivered for each room & we are them in our room with coffee from the Nespresso machine. The beds were comfortable. Shower over a bath. Really lovely toiletries: shower gel, shampoo & conditioner with essential oils. The tatami room was also well designed to make the most of the limited space. Just a small window but cosy and comfortable. We were in easy walking distance to two subway stations as well as the extensive shopping arcades and lots of restaurants. Also very close to Daimaru’s amazing basement food hall. The Nishiki Market is just down the street. Easy to walk over to Gion & even to Kyoto station although we mostly took the subway. Special thanks to Tim on reception who was always welcoming and helpful, but all the staff were friendly and eager to assist.

Our family of 15 had a wonderful 6 night stay at Nest. It is located conveniently close to the Nishiki market and Shijo shopping street. The train station is also a few minutes away. There are 2 Lawson stores within a few steps.
The hotel rooms are large for a Japan hotel. The bathrooms are spacious with the best smelling toiletries. There's a microwave, hot water pot, nespresso machine and a small refrigerator in the room. There's also a washer and dryer in the hotel that you can use for free.
The staff are amazing! They reply to emails quickly. They helped me reserve at a nearby restaurant for our Dec 31st dinner. They also helped our large party walk to the airport bus on the main street.
I hope to come back sometime and will consider staying at their other properties!

We stayed at Miru for a week. The location is excellent, only a short block from Nishiki Market.
The staff is cheerful and remarkably helpful. When I unpacked I realized I had left my sport coat and dress pants at our previous hotel in Kyoto. The staff contacted the hotel and arranged for my clothes to be sent to me in Kyoto. Japan being Japan, thru we’re sent by regular mail, arrived in two days and cost $7! No tipping.
One morning I came down early to do laundry, a regular feature of Japanese hotels. When were ready to go out exploring, it wasn’t close to being dry. As I pondered my next move, I was approached. “Would you mind if we took it out when it is dry?”
Hotel rooms in Japan can be small. However rooms 204 & 205 area bit larger than the other rooms at Miru.

Tiny room with a black off window and wall view for a five star room rate. Low quality amenities - slippers are worse than business hotels in Japan which are 1/4 of the room rate. Photos look cool so I thought room rate I paid was worth till I saw the room. They did not give me any discounted rate though my room rate was for 2 pax and I was staying solo. Though room rate was high, cleaning wasn’t done till I complained on my third night, siting eco friendly hotel but actually it’s a lazy hotel. I stayed 4 nights and they gave me the worst room which they admitted, whereas other stay for only one night and had better rooms. Robotic room allocation procedure. They said check in first should get best room. They should assess who pays most should get best type of room. Other kyoto hotels which cost cheaper and nicer with public bath cost only 1/2 the price. Their photos are elusive. Extremely disappointed experience !

We were there in late March and did not need a/c. We remember that there was a thermostat in the room and we were very comfortable for the three nights we stayed here. They are extremely nice and kind so you could always reach out to the hotel to ask to make sure.
Best to ask directly! We travelled as a couple, without kids.
It would cost at least 740 yen (about $9).
