The location is awesome and easy to find out even we r the first time to visit Japan. Really convenient to all the shops & restauran. It's good enough for couples to stay but not sure if u have the kids cuz not really big space in the room. Simple breakfast which is good value for what we are paying... More

I was here for 1 nite during with my family. The lobby, hot spring (same room for male and female but separate time, must get door password from lobby first) and breakfast from 6-9am not that variety but still acceptable with plenty of seat. Location was the best for this hotel since its located in prime shopping area with walking... More

I wish I could give this hotel a 5, but it is only because the room is so small and cramped that I gave it a four star rating. There are two of us so we had to coordinate our movements to get past each other. It is very clean. The breakfast buffet has both Eastern and Western food choices... More

This is a no-fancy-no-frill hotel. The room is small; I do not recommend this place if you are a big guy. However, the room is clean, the bed is comfortable, the location cannot be better. I slept very well. The hot spring was nice. It may seem a little bit pricey for this kind of "business hotel"; however, you are... More

We had a hard time finding this hotel at first. But after that, we realize that the location of the hotel is amazing! The easiest way to get to this hotel from Kawaramachi train station is via Takashimaya Mall exit. Once you’re in the exit, across the street you will see Zara (the Clothes shop). Beside Zara is an alley.... More

After reading the reviews I was not expecting too much....well wasn't I surprised. It was fantastic. Great location, so close to the bus stops, shopping (the Teramachi arcade was amazing). The staff were extremely helpful with all my questions, and they have all the information you need, including a map of the bus stops nearby and where they go to.... More

If you don't want to spend too much money but still can have acceptable breakfast, good service, hot spring, and a great location to travel in Kyoto, this place is a good choice. Nevertheless, the screen of air conditioner and air cleaner in the room seems not to be clean for a while and make my nose allergy.

We took a taxi from Kyoto Station to the hotel, and it took a while for us to explain to taxi driver and for him to find the place, despite the fact that it is in good location convenient to arrange our travel plans within Kyoto. Mostly within less than an hour distance by bus or subway. The room we... More

Stayed for 5 nights in a non-smoking double room in early March. It's centrally located and indeed an ideal base for shopaholic. The password door-lock idea is fantastic. I enjoyed taking a bath in the hot spring at night after a long day out. It costs only 100 yen for every load of laundry. The free buffet breakfast is more... More

Our family stayed in 2 rooms for 3 nights. We have stayed in other Super Hotels before and were familiar with the small rooms that were well designed to be functional and practical. The breakfast buffet is very good. The hotel was quite full so we had to eat canteen style sitting in a row facing the window/wall. That aside,... More

Staying in Shinkyogoku Shopping District

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinkyogoku Shopping District
Those who delight in shopping and cuisine will find themselves at home in Shinkyogoku. Lauded and visited by locals for its Nishiki Market, where baskets of fragrant spices, dried fish, and just-fried foods are piled high along the snaking streets of its enclosed outdoor shopping spaces, Shinkyogoku is not only a hub for fresh fare, but also for fast fashion fixes. Trends-in-the-making can be spotted in the tall windows of several one-of-a-kind stores featuring local labels and modish boutiques. Arcades, outdoor concert spaces, mega department stores, and small, enchanting cafes have sprung up to accommodate the increasing traffic. Whether looking for souvenirs and kitsch on Shinkyogoku Street, or scoping out the massive food court and restaurant floor at Takashimaya Department store, there's something for every wallet or purse, and a buyer for every item.
