I like this hotel for its brutalist minimalist design and it’s definitely unlike your average hotel. The bedding was firm but comfortable and the pillows were Japanese type with the beans and for side sleeper, it was adequate. i stayed in the smallest (aka cheapest) room and find the space similar to many other Japanese business hotels’ single bed rooms. The bathroom was glass walled and makes it look spacious. Water pressure was very good and bathroom amenities are good quality (though take note there was no lotion/moisturizer - I was there in fall and the dry weather definitely made my skin crack, luckily I packed my own moisturizer).

There was no TV in the room and because the building is concrete, you actually do not get good mobile connectivity inside the room as well (there even is a note on the desk telling you the in-room radio will not work as the concrete cannot get any radio signals so the speaker only works as a bluetooth speaker).

Also, because it was fall when I stayed, they already switched off the main AC and only had central heating on which I find it to be overly warm for the small room size as it wasn’t that cold yet, so I mostly turned off the AC and open the bathroom window for ventilation.

Location wise, it is in between two subway stations, but the bus stop outside the hotel does bring you to everywhere easily - I’ve been to Kyoto four times in the past 12 months and stayed at different hotels and this is the one that I dislike the most for location but its comfort is good. Nonetheless, because I can navigate the city quite easily by bus, this hotel was ok for me. Also, the train (not JR) to Osaka and Nagoya is around 3 blocks, or 15min walk away.

Very good and pleasant experience, the whole hotel is an exhibition of various artists, it is like sleeping in an art gallery, where the smallest detail is thought.

To highlight the friendliness of the staff, and their efficiency in resolving any queries, super satisfied with their attention.!

His level of English is more than acceptable, correct, and where we don’t get one or the other this google translate 😊.

The beds are firm, for us they have been great., the room very spacious.

The walking location in about 15m you are in the shopping area, or the bus, 7min, in front there is a restaurant and a combination on your left.

We made use of the baggage service from Osaka, and took our bags to the room.

Super recommended hotel.

Really good hotel in good location and with good value for money. We have stayed for a week. The room was spacious, somewhat dark, because you have only view on the wall of the next building, but it doesn't bothered us much. They provide water, coffee and tea in the room. Cleaning service was efficient. I liked breakfast, you have got everything what you need to start in the day. We had also dinner once in the hotel and it was decent. The location was pretty good, 5 minutes to the main street, 10 minutes to the bus stop and metro, and 10 minutes to Nishiki Market. A lot of small restaurants around. The hotel hosts exhibitions for the local artists and you have a lot of art objects and pictures around. They had a new exhibition during our stay and it was nice to talk to the artist and enjoy art.

What a great unique property with outstanding design features and exceptional service throughout our 3 night stay. The rooms are very comfortable and location is very central to all the great sights of Kyoto.
The beds in particular were extremely comfortable and room amenities included everything needed. Beds were extremely comfortable and staff were very welcoming and helpful. Great art work throughout hotel. An absolutely perfect stay, highly recommend.

We visited Japan during October 2022 for our honeymoon and made a reservation to Node hotel for our 3 night stay in Kyoto.
Upon checking in we were told that we were upgraded into a junior suite. The suit was well equipped and we loved it, however it had two beds.
On the first evening a nice front desk clerk called Ozeki asked to assist us planning our stay in Kyoto and gave us some recommendations. What was really nice and much appreciated was the fact that on the next morning he came to us while breakfast and brought us two hand written papers he wrote for us, in which he wrote a summary of the day plan including ways to get everywhere. We were really surprised with his care and great hospitality!
Furthermore, since we don’t eat meat or seafood, Ozeki made sure that a special vegetarian (and really good) option will be prepared especially for us for breakfast every morning.
It was a really memorable stay thanks to Ozeki!

Loved everything about our 5 night stay at node hotel. The industrial modern look, the huge room, the artwork, the amenities and the friendly service. All for incredible value for money.
The neighbourhood is great too - worth exploring all the little lane ways, and close to public transport options.
My one tip for Kyoto… do your own restaurant research & make sure you make some reservations as it can be difficult getting into the good places.
We’d happily stay at node hotel again

We had a lovely stay at the Node Hotel. Small but impeccably designed property. About 25min walk from Kyoto Station and 5min walk to nearby bus and subway stations. Front desk staff very helpful with local transportation and restaurant information. Plenty of dining options in neighborhood. Across the street from small convenience store. Hotel offers a welcome drink at the lobby bar. Rooms are modern with great touches — Bluetooth speaker, tea kettle, amenity kit, etc. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Friendly staff, great breakfast, big and nice rooms! Can highly recommend it. We also had dinner here wich was alright but not as good as the hotel in general. Nice bar. The location is ok, about 10 min walk to the major popular market

We stayed at the Node Hotel for 4 nights in July. It is a smallish hotel with an artistic theme throughout. Our room was spacious, by Japanese standards, and we had everything we needed. The breakfast was very good. Location wise, we were close to a main road and had easy access to transportation. Staff were helpful and pleasant. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Great boutique place, featuring industrial chic with original art. Good sized rooms (very firm beds) and outstanding bathrooms and amenities. Very friendly staff. Location handy for Western side of downtown and reasonably good connections.
