One family friend advised this hotel when I was visiting Kyoto Japan, travelling from Sydney Australia. It was a perfect match as it was just beside Kyoto station. You can cover all the attractions of Kyoto. Plenty of restaurants. Even living here you can cover all of Osaka. Very neat and clean. Service quality good. Staff English is little better...

I give this hotel a 5 star for the location, clean interior, and simple but complete amenities. The hotel is connected within the Kyoto Station, so it is extremely convenient for tourists. It is a modern western feel, so it's not for you if you are looking for the traditional "ryokan-style" stay. The hotel is minimal: hotel lobby consist of...

There is much to see in and around Kyoto, and for folks who like to explore on their own this hotel is the best in my opinion. It is clean, modern, comfortable, and offers good dining on site and many other choices within a short walk. This is not the place for one seeking a "traditional" cultural stay experience, but...

I have stayed here for 5 nights. The location is very convenient because hotel is located inside the Kyoto station, and there are many shops and restaurants around. The room is small but clean and comfortable. The price is ok. I have been stayed here couple times. It always be my first choice if I visit Kyoto.

Great access to Shinkansen Great access to kintetsu line for potential trip to Nara Great access to taxi stand for Kyoto tour Numerous shops within 1minute walking distance (convenience stores, gift shops and Uniclo) Economical relative to Granvia hotel No view due to its location on the station Strict rule on checking time

Nice hotel inside Kyoto Station. Efficient and clean room, nice breakfast buffet offering, very pleasant staff and very reasonable prices. My "go to" hotel when I travel on business. Highly recommended.

I am living in Japan and travel a lot around the country for professional reasons. This is possibly the worst hotel, in this category, I have stayed in the last 20 years. The service is very, very poor. Far from the usual polite Japanese standard. The staff, especially at the front, behaves like clients do not matter. Due to the...

I stayed here for 1 night while on business as I had to catch the 6am Shinkansen the next morning to Shinagawa. The hotel is directly connected to the train station, so when you walk out, you simply take the escalator up to train ticketing and tracks...very convenient. I was given room 624 which was extremely spartan. Its like a...

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
