It was a pleasant stay! The staffs were friendly and helpful ! The location was great which located opposite to theJR station. The window in the room can be open which is an important point while traveling inJapan during winter! Most of the hotels turn the heat way up and the aircon couldn't bring the temp down to the comfort...

I've stayed here before and found it again a great place to stay. It is just across the road from the main train station and is very local to a shopping mall - 2 minutes away. Plus if you want more shops there are some under the hotel and a mall at the station - shopping overload!!! Staff are very...

Far too expensive for a cool welcome, very very busy mass tourism at its best/worst, the room was too hot and the temperature could not be changed, the vending machine in the hall was broken. The room was tired. It was the most expensive hotel we have stayed in Japan ($550 pn) yet the most disappointing. Smallest bathroom too compared...

A clean hotel close to Kyoto Station. Worth paying extra money. Their restaurants serve high quality dishes, but they come with high price tags. If you are a frugal traveler, cross the street and go to the station building. You will find all kinds of fine restaurants. If you visit Isetan Department Store B2 and B1, you will find all...

We stayed here one night after our tour ended in Hiroshima. We know we want to stay at Kyoto Station for the convenience of taking public transportation. This hotel is right across the street from Kyoto Station West Exit, very convenient. The room is clean and comfortable. The staff speaks good English and very helpful. The hotel has many restaurants...

I arranged by phone for an elderly couple I was traveling with to stay here, and they had only positive things to say about their experience. My friends don't speak any Japanese and had no problem checking in or getting to their room, asking questions. They were very happy with the hotel, loved the beds after sleeping on futon for...

We had a wonderful stay at this fine hotel. Opposite the Train station and the subway system. So easy to get around this great city. Rooms, service, breakfast - all were great. We found the beds and pillows a little hard though.

Someone else booked this hotel for me, it have a great location, just in front of Kyoto Station, the hotel is large and is always crowed, people coming and going, anyway everything looks to go smooth, despite the people check in was fast, room is good for a Japanese hotel, clean, small size as expected, pillow and bed were hard...

Fantastic location right opposite the Kyoto station. It's a Large hotel so caters for lots of bus tours but rooms were spacious and not flash but well equipped. Bathroom had shower over bath and all personal amenities supplied. Rooms were very clean and had a vending machine for drinks and an ice machine which was handy. Around the corner a...

Good hotel with easy access and walking distance from Kyoto Station. Nice rooms. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel, but there are several nice places to have breakfast at the train station. Good location to tour the city.

Staying in Southern Kyoto

Neighbourhood Profile
Southern Kyoto
Southern Kyoto has a reserved air. Though the Fushimi Inari Shrine is one of Kyoto's major tourist attractions, the surrounding nature, parks, gardens, temples, and shrines provide less-visited spaces for strolling and reflection. The Fushimi Inari Shrine itself is made up of 32,000 sub-shrines, and the mountain they are dotted across beckons hikers, picnickers, and lovers of the outdoors. Many of the mountain's off-set paths aren't frequented by tourists, and the mountain's serenity can be enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Southern Kyoto is the place to enjoy being outside, and to pay your respects to the ancient architecture and gods of the land that are celebrated here.
