We have stayed in "Gojo Guest House" between the 09/10 - 10/10 for a quick one night stop, and overall it was a great experience. We arrived there after a long day of traveling around Kyoto, once we entered the guest house, we were welcomed by a lovely staff member that spoke English fluently (which is ridiculously rare in Japan... The staff is very friendly. After checking in, I got a helpful tour of the place. The room itself was great. Air conditioning worked really well, and the Japanese style beds were clean and comfortable. Locked cabinets were also provided for valuables. The downstairs bar area is a great place to meet other guests. Very friendly atmosphere. The location is... More

Kyoto is a highly tourist oriented town and has lots of outdoors and shrines. Gojo Guest House is not far from the Gion district which is the central hub of activities. Its on the Gojo Dori which spans on a parallel expanse of the entire city. Althoughb rentable bikes and proximity to the subway station helps but Kyoto is a... More

A good choice to spend a great time in Kyoto- near everything you might be interest on. Great staff with a cozy atmosphere, with restaurant & bar facilities. There are many choices of rooms, from solo travellers to families who might want to rent an entire house.

We had three nights in Gojo last week, it is a lovely guesthouse, very comfortable and the staff are lovely too. In particular we would like to thank Shiori who took the time to give us her top tips of what to do and where in Kyoto. The facilities are clean, we stayed in the twin room which was quiet... More

A great little find! The guesthouse is located 15 mins by train (two lines, one change) from Kyoto station, and is 15-30 mins walking distance from the historic geisha district of Gion, and other famous temples and sights. They rent bikes out for 500 yen per day, which I took advantage of - bicycling is definitely the way to go... More
