Detailed Reviews
The location is great for shopping on Nishiki Market and Shijo Karasuma, where only 5 minutes walking from the hotel. All Staffs were helpful and friendly. Especially the concierge(Ms. Ishihara) was very helpful when we asked the guidance for the sightseeing in Arashiyama , Kifune shrine and Kuramadera as well as neighbourhood good restaurants.

+1
Hotel is located in a nice area , surrounded by shops and restaurants and bars.
Hotel itself is stunning inside, lovely style and you can see the Scottish influence , lovely marble , wrought iron work , the inside church is gorgeous and would be perfect for any ceremony .
Restaurant for breakfast and dinner is a large pair of rooms with lovely chandeliers and large round tables , has everything you could want for a first class breakfast .
Only downside would be that we couldn’t use the Spa facilities etc due to tattoos but this is throughout Japan so not much we could do about that .
The staff are all very helpful and friendly and approachable ,
Highly recommended Hotel , we had a lovely 3 night stay .

Classic and traditional hotel. Excellent welcome, comfortable rooms, the triple room a little small. Extreme cleanliness. Breakfast was not included in our rate, but the hotel is very central and convenient for reaching any café.

Super clean, bigger rooms than most we’ve seen in Japan. Less than 5 minutes walk to the subway. They had a bar fridge, a few hangers, but no safe. My only criticism is that it was impossible to get a hold of the spa, no one ever answered the phone and you couldn’t just pop in to get to the floor where it’s located. All in all, good stay though.

Nice rooms, bathrooms perhaps to be reviewed.
Breakfast top, the massage lady really good. In the Spa you can not enter with tattoos, I do not agree but I respect the rule. Very nice receptionists, especially the skinny Japanese with black bob hair, always came out to call me a taxi and bring me an umbrella.
All very kind. Optimal location for visiting kyoto

Conveniently located to everything I needed for my stay but the bathroom was smelly. They do not clean their bathrooms well, smell like urine on the floor. I don’t think they bleach it bc it smelled so bad the 3 days we were there and it was the same in Ginza too. Would not recommend this to my friends.

Very decent hotel and the room is big. There are 3 of us but the room was big enough to accommodate 4 beds plus space for our luggage. It is well located near the train station and short walking distance to Nishiki market and Teramachi shopping area.

I stayed several times 2021 and had a very good experience. Location for subway buses and taxi is perfect. There are 2 Starbucks set close by.
The rooms were spotless With great views over to Arashiyama.
Check in was quick and easy with very good English. It’s easy to walk to Omiya station and Nijo castle. Nishiki is in on your doorstep so perfect for clothes. Kyoto is the best city for clothes in Japan.

I think they only accept hotel guests because I didn't see anybody pay at the hot spring reception. Hotel staff put the bill to our room number instead.
Check in is 2:00pm, but if you arrive early, they can keep your bags and you can go sightseeing. If you are lucky, your room may be available early. Check out is 11:00am. Again, they will hold your baggage if you want to do more sightseeing before you leave.
It costs ¥1770 per day. You can enter as many times in one day.
Its a centralise heating/cooling system and does'nt work properly the room its very hot
