We stayed there for a night, one week ago. It is the tiniest room I have ever seen. The bed does not fit two persons well and you can't even move inside of the room. Quite old, you can't stay there for more then one night.

Small and compact room. Very clean but I have to say the sleeping on the bed feels like sleeping on springs and not comfortable at all. The coffee bar by the reception does a pretty decent coffee and the location of this place is definitely quote central and near to the station, but overall, the bedding is very important to...

the room is really tiny. step in, and you have to get onto bed. toilet is inlaid and SMALL. but the price's ecnomical. the merit:location. 3-minute walk to Kyoto Eki (railway station). you can travel almost anywhere in the city using public transport, conviniently starting from the station. by bus, metro, or JR and Kintetsu train.

The hotel and its amenities are great, the hotel staffs are accommodating, polite and helpful. It is relatively peaceful around the area, the hotel is located just a few blocks away from the train station.

Good location, 5-7 min walk to train Station. Self checkin/out machines. Well appointed rooms. Hard/med beds ok for western tastes. Good laundry and spa. Service was good standard. Stayed on the 16th floor with a view of the station. Lots of convenience stores outside and shopping only a few min walk. I'd stay again. Never had a problem with a...

Stayed here for a week while in Kyoto. Good location a very short distance from the main station and bus central. Typical business hotel, but we had free breakfast daily in the cafe downstairs. Neat and clean with rooms done up daily. Small lobby can get busy in the mornings with tours checking in and out, and they can hog...

The location is great because 2 steps from the beautiful Kyoto station. Unfortunately, the room was terribly small, hardly managed to come with baggage, and the bathroom accordingly. Also it was smoking and the smell was unbearable impregnated into the room.

Location wise, it's superb. It's 3 mins away from the Kyoto station. As you step out of Kyoto station (Kyoto Tower Hotel exit), it's towards the right side (you can see a Family Mart and Docomo), take the corner at Docomo. It shares the same entrance as Best Coffee in Seattle. Check in was smooth, they let us leave our...

This hotel provided what we needed - clean, comfortable accommodation with a good shower and bath. The rooms are tiny, but many in Japan are, and this was good value and gave us a comfy bed and excellent coffee downstairs. Its also very close to the station so its really convenient if you want a good place to stop over...

Free wifi is available with good speed. The room is small. For two people it would be tight but proximity to the train station and seattles best cofffee down stairs is hard to beat Free breakfast in the morning. It gets crowded downstairs but it can be brought to the room No stationary. I would recommend this hotel without any...

Staying in Shimogyo-ku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shimogyo-ku is centered around the busy train hub, Kyoto Station. A nexus for commerce, shopping, dining, and hotels, the Shimogyo-ku area is infused with tourists and local business travelers, making it a competitive location for ever-new commercial structures. The shops and cafes here are chic and trendy, as a result, with many recognizable chains. Commuters flood the Shimogyo-ku area twice a day, and with Kyoto Station itself being a modern mega-complex and an architectural marvel, this neighborhood is one of the most contemporary and energetic areas that the city has to offer. Buildings here look futuristic, and huge department stores, shopping arcades, and public meeting spaces provide every possible convenience. It is also nearly the only place in Kyoto where rooftop dining and socializing is available, completing its modern tone.
