The hotel room was superb, spacious and clean. We stayed on a top floor in one of the superior rooms. The views across to the park and the mountains were good, albeit with other buildings and the busy junction between. The room had excellent facilities and a great range of products, which were replaced daily. Staff were helpful and there was always a member of the team who could speak English, which was much appreciated. Breakfast was served at the table with a reasonable choice of options including western and Japanese. The hotel did not have a bar, lounge or an evening restaurant. The hotel location was good for the Castle and the Imperial Museum and some of the other attractions. However, the famous busy older streets were a very long walk away, which we had not realised in advance. Taxis were cheap and in abundance.

Out 2nd stat at this lovely boutique hotel. In a quieter area than the bustling centre, however plenty of restaurants and bars close by. It is next door to a metro entrance so great for transport to Kyoto station. Rooms are comfortable, well appointed and breakfast set you up for the day. I personally wouldn't stay anywhere else, it's been a great return for us.

Lovely hotel and perfect for sightseeing. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and of a high standard and of course staff are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast is served in the small cafe and although we had no problem getting a table as we were there as it opened at 7am, it did look to get very busy later on.

Do not stay. No thermostat in each room. AC can only be controlled and set per building not per room. The Japanese keep the hotel waaaaaay too warm. Extremely uncomfortable. Choose a hotel with individual AC control. Otherwise you will be way too warm.

Dear WorldWalker2, Thank you for your comments about your stay at Noku. Rest assured that our hotel does have a fully functioning HVAC air conditioning system in all rooms, and that our guests are able to directly control flow of cool air and temperature in their rooms. It is possible that the unit in your room was faulty. Did you inform our front desk to check on it? If not, please do contact us with the room number so we can check the unit. We currently don't have any record of faulty units in any of our rooms. And note that the Noku team can also implement additional measures if guests inform us that are not comfortable in their rooms during any season. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention.

Excellent location, 1 minute from the Imperial Palace park. Being next door to a tube station exit in many cities wouldn’t be good, here’s it’s ideal - no noise, no rubbish, no nothing and only 4 stops to the main Kyoto train station. V quiet hotel, lovely service. Only two ‘faults’ : breakfast is a v fixed menu of 4 choices and we only had 3 coat—hangers for 3 of us for 6 nights. No other complaints at all.

A good, modern hotel in a convenient location with a nice cafe for breakfast (Japanese or western). No restaurant though, but there are plenty of good ones nearby. The hotel is within reasonable walking distance of most Kyoto attractions, but is also right next to a tube station. Service was excellent as you’d expect in a Japanese hotel. Our room, although not huge, was very clean and comfortable. Would certainly stay there again.

We got upgraded to a larger 3 bedded room. Very generous size room but no view whatsoever, overlooking next door building wall, but we spent very little time in the room so this didn’t matter. Beds comfortable, very clean room and bathroom. Very convenient location next to the subway. Limited choice of eating places in the area in the evenings, there is a McDonalds a few yards away. Breakfast okay, limited to set choice of one of 4 options . Good hotel, lovely staff. Would happily recommend.

Fabulous hotel, right next to one of the stations. That was so helpful. There is a nice relaxed elagance to the hotel which we appreciated. The smaller size was calming, vs some of the larger hotels we have stayed.
