stayed for a night, staff was friendly and luggage can be kept at the reception on the day of check in and check out. room was small, but like all japan standards. overall, the hotel is a little old and can do with abit of renovation and upgrading, but with the convenience, i would say that it was totally worth my stay
I travelled solo with a foldable bicycle and needed a basic place for 2 nights to rest after a day of riding in the country side. The place fit the bill, tiny but clean room with a firm bed. The stuff as friendly and spoke some English. The hotel is very conveniently located 3 minute walk from the JR Station, which was quite handy for meals. I'm an early riser so for breakfast it was handy to have a hot bowl of soba noddles with mushrooms at the station. Overall great value for the money and totally adequate for my basic needs.
We had to break our trip between Hakuba and Narita airport and this was a great place to do it. Hotels in Tokyo were twice the price. Actually MUCH closer to Nagano station than we thought - really not far, couple minutes walk with our bags. Remember to ask for non-smoking rooms (so many hotels seem to have more smoking rooms). Close to lots of interesting looking restuarants. Lovely Buffet Breakfast. Not many big rooms - according to room map, it seemed that perhaps only the corner rooms were twin bed rooms, so our teenagers ended up diagonally opposite us on the floor - but it was OK. Free WIFI in the rooms - yay!
We booked this hotel last minute because we were stranded in Nagano following a snow storm when trains and busses were stopped. This basic but clean and friendly hotel was reasonably priced for a twin room in the city centre close to the station. It was one of very few left in the city during this hectic period but the price remained standard. Booking through the train station information center was cheaper than via online (substantially). 10m x 10m room size was adequate, although wifi was not available in the room, only in the lobby area. Some basic English is spoken.
