I had a chance to use this hotel due to the location of my business arrangements I had to take care of the next morning. This hotel is in need of renovations to say the least. At least the service here is very friendly and professional. The guest rooms are also very clean and tidy. They are getting by with what they are working with which is not much. I would say that 7000 yen for one person including a breakfast buffet (which is what I paid for) is kind of expensive for what you are getting. I woke up late and didn't even get a chance to eat the breakfast buffet. The beds are not very comfortable and you are given only one pillow. Although old, the bed was very clean. The cleaning staff did a very good job. Also, they do not have a public bath and spa like other Route Inn Hotels in business areas.…
If your looking for a basic business hotel at a relatively cheap cost then this hotel could be for you. Rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Each room has WIFI. Air-con system very effective and bathroom very clean. Only downside the hotel has no actual restaurant but only a very basic breakfast service in a small room. Travelling to Nagano City is easy. Train station is only a 2 minute walk away and train journey itself is only around 10 minutes into Nagano.
If you just pass through Shinonoi and need a place to stay, it's alright. But nothing less, nothing more. Just like any other hotel chains, things are kept clean and you have everything you need in the hotel and your room. But that's all you get and there is no friendly or warm customer service (I'm sure nobody expects it though...). However, sleep quality wasn't that great. I don't necessarily like soft mattresses, but the one in my room was very hard and I didn't feel like I had slept enough. This hotel is truly for road trippers.
