The location is really good which is one minute walking distance (across the bridge) to JR Nagano Station. Room is clean and neat. A lots of amenities around the hotel like convenience shop (seven eleven) just beside hotel, Mi Do Ri Dept Store (inside Nagano station), restaurants and many mores. What I did not like about this hotel : the room is small, double bed also small for us (2adults + 1 young child), old hotel with old furniture, only tea sachets provided as complementary drink.
We had trouble finding this place as there is no English name on the building. Lucky we had a map and did not walk too far, before asking someone where it was. We were standing right outside the building!! It does not look like a hotel from outside, but once through the doors its is very nice with a spacious reception area. Room was quite large for Japan with all amenities you would need for your stay and a fairly large bathroom. Beds were very hard and firm, as were the pillows, akin to sleeping on the floor. We were facing the station, but did not hear any trains. If you stay on this side of the hotel you will be amazed by the amount of bikes parked at the station. Not sure how anyone would find which was theirs. There is a 7 eleven just down the street, so handy for supplies and a couple of restaurants on the station. We did not have time to venture to the other side of the station due to meeting up with different tour guides. We were only there for one night and had to leave extremely early to tour to see the snow monkeys, so grabbed an enjoyable coffee from the station. Nothing really special about this hotel, except for the reception staff who were lovely and very helpful.…
Good location and friendly staff. Super close to the station, however it is on the "wrong" side if you are wanting to stay in the centre, but it only takes three minutes to cross the station. They don't have the English name on the building, but if you booked with booking.com (which we did), they have the japanese name there and the only thing you have to do is compare it to each other. I'm not sure what the fuss is about?
The hotel is literally right outside the train station, just across the bridge and past the 7Eleven store, which is super convenient when you just need to grab a little something. If you need something more substantial, just walk inside the station and there is a Midori where there are various stores and cafe and stalls selling all kinds of foods, drinks, snacks and souvenir items. There is even a little grocery downstairs and more food. The hotel itself is very well maintained and visibly cleaned thoroughly. Inside the room you can't help to feel a bit throwback to the 90s or late 80s with wooden panels consisting of buttons and dials bolted down in the center console. My only complaint is that there is no temperature control other than Lo Med Hi buttons on the said control panels, which I think simply control the airflow. It feels a tad warmer than we would prefer because we were there right smack in the middle of summer but I would suspect it should be great comfort if you are there in the winter. Definitely would stay again, especially if you are going to use the station to go places anyways, but maybe in cooler months. Also, breakfast buffet was included with our reservation, it's simple but delicious and delicately prepared.…
A short walk from the rear exit of Nagano station, with lifts at each end of the walkway, making luggage handling easier. Good sized room, TV fridge and WIFI . Beds comfortable, but pillows rather hard. As with many Japanese hotels and offices, the date rather than the temperature dictates when the air conditioner becomes operational.. In mid-May, the aircon was not yet available, so we had to open the window. The downstairs restaurant Shimoda, does not belong to the hotel, but tickets for breakfast can be purchased from reception. The restaurant is a huge improvement on that available during our previous stay several years ago. The excellent breakfast buffet suits both Japanese and Western tastes. Even better is the evening set meal option of sashimi, rice, miso soup and pickles or filet mignon. We stayed for two nights - next time we shall stay longer! Price for two nights was 19,800yen, reasonable for the size of room and convenient location.…
