We had a great stay here for Valentine's Day. Overall impeccable service: Both the restaurant and hotel staff was very accommodating even though we came very late for our reservation due to traffic problems. The staff was friendly and charming and made us feel so welcome. We appreciated the thoughtful details a lot - the swan-shaped towel arrangement and rose petals on the bed were a lovely touch. The large King bed was comfortable with a great view of the city, everything was clean and tastefully designed. A small upgrade that would have gone a long way, however, would have been bath robes and slippers. Unfortunately, the Valentine's Day menu was very disappointing, did not match the food standard of the Chow Kit, and not worth the RM 188 per person. The starter salad was a cold piece of rubbery squid and while the menu indicated pomegranate vinaigrette, the salad we were served was dry and not dressed. The other dishes were okay but just nothing special, quite simple and did not seem to be prepared or designed with much care or attention. We were, however, happy to have booked the Stay&Dine offer which includes RM 150 credit for the restaurant, and it was still convenient to eat directly in the hotel and try some of the cocktails. For breakfast we ordered room service and were very satisfied. The front desk staff also kindly accommodated our request for a later checkout and provided things like a toothbrush upon request. The overall experience at the Chow Kit hotel was really great and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Every staff member here is so courteous and helpful. Your staff are all so professional and warm especially Mr Calvin at the reception. He is a person who looks neat and smells good all the time and generous with a smile, I am very comfortable to communicate with him. Calvin at this hotel were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. This hotel exudes a wonderfully inviting atmosphere. This is our first time stay in this hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, the first question and what we want is Malaysian food. Calvin suggested Malaysian food which is nasi lemak at the restaurant. I really really loved Nasi lemak enjoyed the delicious breakfast each morning and loved the convenient location close to major attractions. Not forgetting the very friendly and helpful Nailan at restaurant. Thank you for making our stay so memorable.

Hotel/Room: The hotel architectures and design is beautiful with amazind kl tower view and LRT. There is no water kettle provided but they have an automatic water dispenser in front of the lift so that's a good feature for those who wants to drink water anytime. Necessities: The hotel will not provide anything else aside from handwash, shampoo and body wash. Although, you can ask the front desk for toothbrush. Surprisingly the toilet has no bidet. Ha! Staff: Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a private lunch experience and Mr. Ehsan was kind enough to inform us that we had order alcoholic beverage for lunch, we were grateful for his explanation. Food & Dining: The food was so good. We got the stay and dine promotion and choose to have our dinner there. The price for the chow kit set is RM 200 for 2 pax and we got an additional fish and chip (RM 65), which seem expensive but hey we got a whole fish for that. Overall if you are looking for fine dine Malaysian dish you should definitely try eating here.

Overall an above average hotel with no amenities other than a restaurant. No in room coffee making facilities so you would have to go down to the lobby to buy coffee in the morning.
Two things I wanted to emphasize on: 1. The housekeeping is awful. I left the hotel at 10am and back to the hotel after 4pm and my room was not attended to. At around 5:30pm in the afternoon the housekeepers (3 of them) came to want to clean my room but I sent them away and only requested clean towels. I just wanted to rest after a long hot humid afternoon exploring KL. This is definitely not acceptable.
2. My room came with free breakfast so I ordered an avocado toast with eggs but was told there would be a surcharge for eggs. So I went along with it and paid. This is tacky. So be warned free breakfast is not free.
The location is out of the way but monorail is within walking distance. KLCC or Bukit Bintang would be better locations for visitors.
All staff I encountered are courteous and pleasant. I had the Tow Ka Suite and I have to say it is compact, very compact. The shower doesn’t drain well so you stand in a pool of dirty water during shower.
The decor is charming and the lobby and restaurant are both nice and well designed.
I would not recommend this hotel to tourists.

The missus and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here from Jan. 15 to 19 to celebrate our 8th anniversary. The first thing that hit us was how chic the interior decor appeared, every detail given due consideration. We had the Den room on floor 2 facing the busy street and was worried that the road noise would keep us awake, but our concerns were unfounded as the soundproofing was great allowing us to sleep just fine. There was a small fridge to cool the two complementary bottles of water each day (with a water refill machine outside near the elevator), which was greatly appreciated given the stifling heat of KL. There were no USB ports but plenty of outlets for our purposes. One thing to watch out for are the somewhat sharp edges of the wooden sides near the foot of the bed which I managed to bump into with my toes walking barefoot. 7-Eleven is only a 3-minute walk away and another minute or so further down is the delicious Nasi Kandar Saddam restaurant, where we had our first meal in KL and was blown away by the savoriness of the food at a fraction of what it would cost back in our country. A few steps to the right of the hotel is the entrance to the colorful sky bridge that takes you to the Medan Tuanku Monorail Station, which stops at famous and useful stops, including KL Sentral (where you can take the KLIA Ekspres to to the airport, train to Ipoh and Penang, bus to Genting Highlands, etc., etc.) and Bukit Bintang (where you will find Jalan Alor Street Food). Finally, perhaps the most important factor that makes a hotel worth returning to and recommending to family and friends is the quality of the staff. Without going into details, let’s just say we had an issue come up during our stay and the staff was completely understanding, professional, and provided what we consider to be 5-star customer service. Thank you to the gentleman working the reception desk during the early morning shift. You rock!

I booked for a table of 14 people separating 8 for the older family members and another 6 for the younger ones to be seated together. Carmen did a great job accommodating to my requests. We went on a Sunday so the breakfast menu extends to lunch time . While the younger ones enjoyed their brunch menu, the elders ordered the whole chicken, beef rendang and ikan asam pedas. ALL of them said the food was delicious and this is coming from a crowd that is hard to impress. They were blown away by the taste and authenticity of the food. Special thanks to Moreen for suggesting the menu to them . Also extending my gratitude to the housekeeping team & front desk for accommodating my fiance's parents who stayed there for two nights- they requested to changed to a bigger room for their second day there and The Towkay Soh Suite was ready by 12pm for them.

The service was impeccable! I was very very impressed as all the staff are very well-trained & hospitable :) prior to my business trip, we have a huge group (booking more than 20+ rooms) & Neaadany assisted us with the booking very smoothly. During my business stay, i needed to acquire some printed materials & Neaadany was an absolute gem. She helped find the store and even bought it for me! My work trip wouldnt have successful without her. We also had to store a lot of stuff at the reception and all the staff was very helpful.
The room itself was well decorated, however you'd need to bring your own toothbrush & toothpaste. I believe if u ask for it they'll bring the toiletries to you. Bed was soft, no complaints. We stayed for 1 week & would definitely return to chowkit next time we're in Malaysia.

Stayed here for two nights at the Den. The hotel channels a lot of the vintage feel, from the lobby to the rooms. The vintage aesthetics are a treat for the Instagram/social media people. Funny thing is, I found out about their hotel via ads on Instagram.
The room looks really nice, bed is comfortable. The design and detail of the room relies heavily on nostalgia, which I think for me is also its negative. The lighting is mostly on the dim side, which is a bit annoying if I want a proper lighting. The lobby feels a bit creepy with the dimmed lighting, as if a ghost will suddenly appear. There is no bidet in the toilet, because I guess they said "well there's no bidet in the past", I had to use the hand shower as a makeshift bidet. Oh and there's no toothbrush and toothpaste, better bring your own. The hotel wants to be environmental friendly by only putting refillable toiletries, but they would rather give you rolls of toilet paper instead of a bidet. Water also takes some time to heat up, not sure if it's part of the schtick, or their water heating system is also stuck in the past.
The restaurant/cafe has a kopitiam design, and they don't offer buffet (to avoid food wastage according to them), but instead you order from a default list of breakfast selection. I don't have any issues with it, but I guess if you want to have a heavy breakfast, choose the full ones like the english breakfast or the nasi lemak set.
As for location, it's a few minutes walk to the monorail station, and a few mins walk further to Quill City Mall and restaurants in Heritage Area (Jalan Doraisamy). It's also a few minutes walk to SOGO.

My stay at the Chow Kit in Kuala Lumpur was absolutely wonderful. This hotel enjoys an ideal location, close to the metro, which is very convenient for exploring the city. The staff is remarkably kind and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. The decoration is sublime, combining elegance and modernity with refined taste. The mattress was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring restful nights sleep. I highly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable stay in Kuala Lumpur!

Having experienced a recent 3D2N stay, we decided our maiden experience in this property will be a once off. While there was nothing wrong with the Tokay Soh suite, the wow factor was simply not there for us. While sitting on a rocking chair and watching the train zoom pass has its moments, the novelty did not last. We realise that staying in a restored colonial type building with a commitment to environmental sustainability appeals to a certain niche market. We also appauld the effort in engaging local talent in the conceptualising and execution of the owners vision. The staff at the cafe were warm, hospitable. Here are the areas which tended to detract from our experience. 1. No bell and concerige service. There was no assistance with our luggages on arrival or departure. There was a staff member station by the door although his main task appeared to be keeping the doors close to minimise the draft from affecting his colleagues working the front desk a few metres away. 2. Drop off and pick up area. This 2 to 3 car designated zone only works if drivers obey the rules that this is a no waiting area. Unfortunately, traffic is held up when this is not enforced which is a challenge to management. 3. There is a fine line between environmental sustainability and guest comfort. The 2 child size refillable water bottles provided are insufficient for adults resulting in making repeated trips to the filtered drink dispenser located near the lift a chore. 4. The lack of hooks to hang towels, no personal toiletries, a mirror which fogs up after shower due to poor ventilation together with an unstable internet connection to watch regular axn TV (not stream Netflix) also added weight towards our decision of trying other properties the next time we are in town.

You can do early check in by 10 AM i guess. You can spend the rest time in their beautiful restaurant . The hotel staff will serve you well. If you don't go for dining, just stay at the couches near the reception, it is very relaxing.
Hi Belle_223,
Thank you for your enquiry. Yes, we do have an open space parking lot available. Parking charges are RM3 per hour and for in-house guests there's a flat rate fee of RM15 per day.
Hi Herda
Thank you for your question. The Chow Kit has a yoga pavilion on the rooftop featuring weekly sessions, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7am. To run a session we do need two guests to participate. We don't have a swimming pool but should you wish to work out in a gym - there is Celebrity Fitness at Quill Mall which is chargeable.
Kind wishes
