Spent 6 nights at Ascot Star KLCC in September 2022 on the 2nd leg of a family holiday in Malaysia. Great location, just few minutes walk to the famous Twin Towers and close to shopping malls (KLCC Suria) and eateries. The checkin was smooth without much waiting and we had access to the apartment immediately.. The accommodation was a 2- Bedroom Premier on the 26th floor. It was new, clean, modern with a well equipped kitchen, washing machine/dryer, coffee machine, electric kettle, toaster and daily replishment of coffee and tea….just like home! There are 3 televisions in the apartment, 1 in the lounge and 1 in each of the 2 bedrooms. There is an en-suite bathroom in the master bedroom and a separate bathroom for the 2nd bedroom. Both bathrooms are clean, well stocked with amenities and have both hand held and rain showers. There are no bath tubs in the bathrooms but that wasn’t an issue. The views from the lounge and 1st bedroom were spectacular. Although the apartment does not have a direct view of the Twin Towers (not sure if any did), we did have a good view of the Towers from the side of the lounge glass window panel. The only drawback to this lovely apartment is the lack of natural light to the 2nd bedroom as there are no windows. Apparently that is the case for all the 2 bedroom apartments! The booking did not include breakfast as we chose to try the many eating places nearby. Besides, with the excellent kitchen facilities it was nice to have home prepared breakfasts from groceries purchased from the supermarket in KLCC Suria. With regard to facilities, there is a roof top pool with direct magnificent views of the Twin Towers. Great for a morning swim. The pool isn’t normally crowded surprisingly, despite the views probably due to the lack of attractions like a restaurant/bar and it was noticeable that there is a huge empty (waiting to be occupied?) space round the corner on that floor. There is a second pool on the 12th (?) floor with a gym. This was a more lively than the roof top pool. There are no restaurants on site but lots of eating places nearby. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and a member of the front desk staff went out of her way to take us on a guided tour of the facilities which was a nice touch. It was nice to be greeted with a smile and hello every time we pass the reception. Overall it was an enjoyable stay, a big thank you to the staff (Ms Pung and her colleagues at the front desk and all the team) who made this so. We really appreciated the send-off and look forward to returning on our next visit to KL.

It is new property, good location and easy access. The room is quite delightful with good lighting. Mostly the equipment and amenities are new and well function. Drinking water tap is available in each room which is very convenient. The microwave oven position however is a bit off, where it was difficult to put in and out the food from there.
Room facilities are ok. not so much to note. Just few of things that I would think can be done (much) better :
- Daily housekeeping. This is my first time experience staying in hotel where daily housekeeping is only available upon request and this was not pre-informed. I have stayed in Somerset Damansara and KL before and this was never be the case. I did not intend to have my room daily cleaned, but I would for sure need replenishments as I was staying for 3 nights. I had to call to ask for this and only I was told about the need to request.
I also found a ‘strange’ thing that the hotel provided nespresso machine but only provide 2 capsules per check in. I don’t get the logic on this because I pay the same amount of money for each night. And even so, they did not provide any other type of coffee (at least instant coffee), so definitely I can only enjoy coffee on my first day of check in and the rest not.

- Breakfast. Understand the facility may not fully operational yet, so the food was provided to the room. Food portion and quality in general was ok, but Yogurt in first and second day was spoiled. It was a repack yogurt so no wonder it could not stand for long. The last day also breakfast did not come until 10.30 – after I had to make 3 calls to ask.
In overall, the experience was just ordinary. Nothing much to shout about. I was expecting more with Ascott brand as it is more expensive compared to Somerset. Hopefully the service can be improved.

Great unobstructed view on the Petronas Towers from the clean swimming pool deck, great choice of drinks at the bar near the swimming pool. Petronas Towers in short walking distance. Rooms and hotel are exceptionally clean. There is unlimited complimentary filtered drinking water at the room to avoid plastic bottles, so bring reusable bottles to bottle it. Checkin/checkout very easy and friendly. The bell boys at the entrance are exceptionally welcoming and friendly.
Breakfast is good and the breakfast room is clean, but the atmosphere in the breakfast room is not very inviting.

We have always stayed at Ascott KLCC whenever we visited Kuala Lumpur with family/friends, at least for the past decade. This time round we were shocked at how much it has cut back on its quality. I won't fault it for charging for car parking now. But there are standards that I am accustomed to for Ascott. You now have to pre-order your breakfast when you checked in. But it is no luxury room service. The food was served cold and in disposable wares. They reminded me of food from mass central kitchen served during Covid 19 quarantine at dedicated facilities. Next, for 4 persons in a two-bedroom apartment, we were only given 3 keys. But only one key could activate the electricity in the room. This caused much inconvenience to those who didn't hold THAT key but needed to return to room separately. And in each bathroom there was only one hand towel, and not a single face towel. In the kitchen, there was no kitchen towel, hand towel or even piece of rag to wipe off water from the kitchen top. And here's the funny thing: an instruction card next to the phone said "Press "9" for outside line, but you cannot call external party. It has to be connected through the operator/receptionists. It is like travelling back in time to the '70s or '80s.

The saving grace was its front desk staff, porter and housekeeping staff remained friendly and professional. It listed itself as 4-star but I won't give it more than 2.5 stars.

Stay for 3 days 2 nights but no room cleaning at all, when we call to ask for room cleaning and they say they finish work at 5pm and not providing room cleaning. At the end we still need to beg them to give us some new towel.

There are so many parking lots in the carpark but they ask to park at basement 4 if not they will lock your tire

Already informed them that we are celebrating birthday and anniversary but no cake or greetings card at all unlike other hotel they will give birthday cake and even greet you happy birthday

The washing machine is not working

Booked the room 2 months before and we asked for city view but at the end they say dont have

No hot water to shower

We asked for another umbrella but they refuse to lend us

For the price paid there were definitely some shortcomings.
Despite room having a kitchen and huge fridge not a single condiment was provided. So as a traveller are you meant to bring with you or go out and buy?!! I think they don't want you to cook.
Further there is a coffee machine but they only provide 2 capsules per stay no matter how long your stay. You have to buy extras at 3 ringit each. SO STINGY!! No black tea, just Earl Grey!
Bed was comfortable but pillows way too fat. Difficult to sleep.
Bathroom shower water pressure was weak.
Lifts were slow.
Woken twice on last night by fire alarm and loud instructions to evacuate building and to not use lift.
Lastly they replaced towels every day despite us hanging them up. Totally unnecessary, costly and bad for the environment. They should provide coffee capsules instead!

If you are looking for accommodation in the centre of Kuala Lumpur with a view of the Petronas Towers and a stone's throw from the LRT KLCC, this is the place to be!
The rooms are very spacious, clean, well furnished and equipped with a kitchen with all you need (washer/dryer with detergent available, dishes, pots and pans, oven...).
The hotel has a large swimming pool with sunbeds and a smaller one on the roof overlooking the Petronas Towers. Excellent if you want to cool off during the day.
The reception staff are very friendly and helpful and greeted us with a smile every time we entered or left the hotel.
The location is also great: in addition to being close to the Towers and the LRT stop, the hotel is very close to the Avenue K shopping centre, which has a large food court and supermarket. Tip for getting to the hotel quickly on foot from KLCC LRT station (5 minutes): When you exit the LRT turnstiles, take the escalator up to Avenue K level G and go to the car park entrance; when you exit the car park, follow the street to the left; when you get to the intersection, the hotel is right in front of you.
Excellent value for money. We highly recommend it.

Understand that the official check-in time was 3pm but we were given 1 room at 6pm, meaning 1 day gone. Reason cited was I’ve booked 3 rooms and requested all 3 rooms to be on the same floor, hence they needed time to clean the last room.

We selected non-smoking room but noticed that the room smell of cigarette thru out our stay. We highlighted to the front desk twice but the cigarette smells still lingers the room . Other than the cigarettes smell, the aircon compressor noise is rather deafening during the 2nd night of our stay.

This property is a great find. It is brand new so all the amenities in the apartment were up to a very high standard. I like the nespresso machine and although only a few were provided, we can easily purchased them at a reasonable price.
The 2 bedroom we stayed in Is spacious, modern and classy. Beds are very comfortable. Everything is brand new in here.
Staff are first class- from check in to check out, they have been very courteous, efficient and very professional.
The view from the rooftop pool deck was spectacular, overlooking the Petronas twin towers.
Other Facilities like the gym and main pool was not over crowded.
The location is perfect, close to malls and esp the Petronas Twin Towers and KLCC shopping centre
It was indeed a pleasure staying here.
It was just a shame that we only stayed for a night. Will definitely stay here again when next in KL. Thank you Ascot staff, you are first class!

It is always dreadful for a lady to go overseas business trip as we have plenty of laundries to do. I was super delighted that Ascott Star KLCC has a washer/dryer for me to do my laundries especially if im travelling between cities. when i informed the front desk that the machine was not working, they took immediate action to fix it before my return to the room. when i had a urgent document to courier to my JB office, the front desk offered to arrange the logistics to ensure the pick up was done promptly by the dispatch. these nice unspoken gestures indeed made me feel like home, even though i'm away from home :)
