I wasn't even staying here, but Willy helped me out today with a few things and showed me great hospitality. I really appreciated your openness and kindness. Thanks Willy! From Vanessa (the Australian girl with the hula hoops!)

Apparently if you're a local Malaysian/Malay you are not welcomed to stay. Made a phone call for reservation and got rather impolitely turned down. A tad bit discriminatory but probably they are indeed a racist establishment.

Dear Zaid, We are a small backpacker's guesthouse and we are building a traveler's community, that is why we focus on backpackers only. We host genuine travelers and this has nothing to do with race. Sorry if you felt that way; however, we are responsible for the safety of our guests staying with us and we don't usually take reservations... More

Willie and the team were more than happy to help and the place had a great feel to it - a real difference from the more commercial hostels located nearby. A 15min walk to Bukit Bintang and a stone's throw from Chinatown. Our room has great wifi signal and was clean and simple. I will be staying here again on... More

Bird Nest is a great place to stay in KL, it is clean and comfortable with plenty of communal areas for socialising. The location is good, near to Pasar Seni station, lots of eating places nearby, wi-fi and internet, decent showers, free tea and coffee, cooking facilities and 2 cats! Willi is a sociable host and is opening a new... More

We arrived Kuala Lumpur at 3AM after a long journey from Singapore and we decided to go direct to guest house even we had no idea they will allow us to early check-in or not. Thank god, they did. The manager let us in and left us at community room to take some rest and shower. The staff very friendly... More

I showed up at the place without a prior booking and the initial reception was, well a bit tentative. Of course once the owner Willie decided I could stay, everyone was warm and friendly in a instant. And that's when you get it. It really is a nest for long stay travellers and it's the kind of place where people... More

i spent 2 months travelling in malaysia, and birdnest 2 was by far the cleanest and most colourful place. it has a great location in china town, which means outside its very noisy. otherwise the place compensates that by not having staff that yells at each other :) in this sense it was the quietest place on my whole trip.... We were recommended birds nest 2 by a traveller we met so we were looking forward to our stay. We walked in and from first glance it seemed great, really cute communal areas and very cosy. We stayed in a three bedroom family room, room was very small, one bed looked like a pop up camp bed and extreamly uncomfortable.... More

Staff were friendly, chatty and helpful especially as I was stopping on my way through and was alone. Room and bathrooms were clean and a nice communal area for cooking. Security was also very good and made me feel safe in a new country. Although would strongly recommend getting aircon as very very hot!!

+++ Clean, comfy rooms +++ Great staff +++ Great place to meet new people ++ Located in the middle of China Town, at walking distance from the bird park, national mosque. Our last few days in Kuala Lumpur we stayed at a really fancy airbnb, but we really missed the Birdnest!! It's really a great place to stay.
