The Corus Hotel Kuala Lumpur enjoys praise for its excellent location, close to various tourist hotspots and dining options, as well as its welcoming atmosphere accentuated by a well-decorated coffee house and ambient music. Guests commend the hotel's overall cleanliness and friendly service, although some have encountered slow responses to their needs. However, the hotel's rooms have faced criticism, with reports of insufficient soundproofing, unpleasant odors, and a pressing need for renovations. Despite some concerns about quality, many travelers find the hotel to offer good value for its price point.

My habit is to look at the comments of other visitors before booking a hotel. When I saw many people, especially coming from Mainland China, gave a very high mark (5 out of 5) to Corus Hotel. I thought it deserved to stay there. My first bad experience was selected at a higher price of a network travel agent, even using Trivago to compare the prices, more than HK$400 difference for 3 nights. My second bad experience was the limited room facility of this historical hotel. My advice to the visitors is to bring sufficient personal grooming materials. Then, we went to the counter to ask for a grab to go to the Alor Night Market, the staff advised us to the track foods that just next to the hotel because the traffic congestion was very serious during 1800-2000. It was not deserved to go far away from the hotel unless we wanted to take dinner after 2000. In addition, the hotel facilities e.g., gym and swimming pool closed at 2100. It's too early to close. Some hotels are open for 24 hours. That is my bad experience on the first night. I had no expectation for the breakfast at all, though the general comments were good. However, after taking the breakfast buffet, my low mood was lifted up a bit. Though it was unable to compare with 5 stars, the variety was sufficient enough to round the tables at least two times to taste different foods. The flavour was good. The aeroline bus was just outside the hotel, one goes to Singapore (6 hours), and the other one goes to Penang (5 hours). The ticket could be bought from the hotel (a small counter of the hotel's left-hand side). When I explored the LRT station, I found that there had a subway between the Avenue K and Ampang Mall with many restaurants and shopping places. Two supermarkets are situated on the UG level of these two shopping arcades. My bad experience was reassured by these shopping centers and the nearest LRT station (KLCC). The location of Corus Hotel is very convenient for shopping and eating but needed to improve the room facility and the opening hours of the hotel facilities.

Dear Sir Thank you for your feedback. We hear your concerns and it has been directed to the proper channel. Since the hotel is located at the heart of the city centre, the traffic congestion cannot be avoided. It was wise that our bellman advised you to walk over to the next door outdoor dining but we also have good choices of restaurants in the hotel itself. All serving award winning dishes. Must try! As for the operation hours of the Pool or Gym, it has been a policy of the hotel to close within a stipulated time. Other 4 or 5 star hotels surrounding us also practices the same way. In other words, we look forward to see you soon. Goodbye!

Location was very good. Few mtrs away from Twin tower. Easy to get out of City for airport. A food truck and a 24hrs food court available. Indian kind of food available 24hrs. Suria KLCC is nearby, so can buy stuff from cold storage/Isetan. The hotel's breakfast is okish. Stayed for 3 days, found the breakfast fare is almost same for all the days. Swimming pool is good. Separate Kids pool. Towels provided. Spa/sauna/gym also available though not used any of the facilities. Rooms are okish, no view of the twin towers for most of the rooms. Staff do their duty, not very warm not show disrespect, just go on with their duty albeit without a smile. Rooms have carpet, so be careful not to spill coffee/Curry and leave a stain. The hotel will charge heftily for this. My kid had spilled Curry and a small stain was left on the carpet and the hotel charged me 300myr which I think is exorbitant. Otherwise the stay is ok.

My husband and i have stayed in this hotel in our few visits to KL. Our room is on the 11th floor and the room was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. We wanted a balcony and Diyana got it done. Housekeeping, every need was catered with utmost perfection making us feel very important. Staff Abdul Satar has been very impressive in giving us the best comfort he could. All this with a smile on his face. He cleaned our room everyday and always done it very well according to what we wanted, without fail. I would like to compliment your entire staff for being professional. And would like to visit your hotel again for this outstanding experience.

Staff friendly and check in fast and efficient. Feed back room as above. Main major advantage is the location in the centre of town with the Aeroline bus in front of the hotel and public transport on 5 minutes walk. The breakfast was not very attractive and for 40 MR not really value for money. The total package however deserves a 4 star rating

I'm sure the hotel was good in the 80s, but in this day and age, it's quite outdated. Not enough sockets to charge and plug gadgets. Our first room was on the 4th floor and we were not happy there at all. The hallway carpet had stains all over, it smelled musty, and our room did not feel nor smell clean. There was hair everywhere, the sheets were stained. They actually sell fragrances in the lobby, which is very telling. We asked to be moved to a different room. They obliged and moved us to the 8th floor. Conditions were slightly better, but still didn't feel clean. We spent a sleepless night because the pillows smelled funky and the sound from the street outside was so loud. The windows could not block out the sound at all, even on the 8th floor. The next day, we asked to be transferred again to a different room. They moved us to a pool-side cabana on the 2nd floor. It was much better there. Still had a musty smell, but not as bad. We bought a bottle of Dettol and sprayed every inch of the room every time we went out to disinfect it. By the 4th day, the room no longer smelled musty.

The only upside to this hotel is it has a bidet, and the staff are friendly and accommodating. Ms. Diana at the frontdesk was especially helpful. The hotel was also able to help us find a driver to take us up to Genting Highlands for a day at a cheap price. And it is in an ideal location, right next to the food trucks and Avenue K.

If you're planning on staying here, manage your expectations because it is not a 4-star hotel. Really more like 2 stars. 2.5 is being generous. Go for their cabana rooms, which are much better than the godforsaken rooms on the 4th and 8th floors. We had to pay extra, but it was worth it.

The Corus KL used to be one of the go to hotels when staying in the KLCC area. However, like most legacy hotels, it has failed to keep up with the current trend. Do not let the hotel lobby deceive you. The lobby and corridors that seem well maintained gives a false expectation of the rooms. Having stayed in the hotel a few years ago, this stay was indeed a disappointment.

As soon as I walked into the room it smelled musty and the carpets felt damp. The room looked slightly rundown and the bathroom is nothing to brag about. The room curtains looked old and worn (even had a patch where light penetrated through), and the shower curtain (yes, CURTAIN), was stained. The furnishing was outdated and the air-cond was not cold enough for the room. I had to leave the windows open for a few hours to air the room and remove the bad odor from the carpets. The bed was ok, but old (I checked), and the pillows were as flat as pita bread. I would have changed rooms but my wife and I were on a tight schedule as we had to attend an event in a few hours and did not want to waste time moving rooms (besides, there's no guarantee what disaster awaits us there).

Breakfast the next morning was nothing to brag about either. I am guessing, due to the lack of staff in light of the recent pandemic, there was only one waiter seen buzzing around the breakfast floor.

I have stayed in boutique hotels with better rooms than the Corus KL. Situated in a prime location, I hope the hotel management invest in updating the rooms and their breakfast menu, befitting to the location they are in.

Stayed at Corus Hotel KL for 3 nights with family. The check-in was smooth, we managed to get all the rooms on the same level. The room has all the necessary room amenities. The bed were ok, pillows and duvet were too thin and soft. The breakfast was good and have variety fo choices.

The pool was clean but the flooring in the pool is very slippery, saw a few guests struggling to stand at few occasions.

The hotel is located beside a mall and walking distant to KLCC. In the evening, there is an urban food truck dining called Tapak (I think!) just beside the hotel as well. We enjoyed the food and quite reasonable.

Checking out was smooth and very fast as well. Since we took the coach services from Aeroline, staying at Corus is very convenient, especially if you are travelling with elderly. Overall, we enjoyed out stay and trip.

Kid friendly hotel near to KLCC specifically due to its nice kids pool compared to other hotels within 10min walk to Suria KLCC. Price is also among the cheapest for a 4 stars hotel at this strategic location, with the infamous food truck site just right besides it. Overall, it is a value for money choice except for a bit lacking here and there on its hospitality at front desk reception counter and breakfast counter. But overall, it is recommended!

We arrived at the Corus hotel the 21st of december and left the 24th. We had booked a room for two adults and two children, aged 4 and 6.
We had booked with Agoda, and apparently they and Agoda have not solved out things, so we had to pay for an extra bed to the room.

Check in process was quite messy, and the first guy who were at the reception (an indian guy) was not helpful at all as he literally wanted to charge us for everything even though we had already payed for our stay. After that another guy took over (a malayan guy) and he was more helpful. We had to pay for an extra bed to my son, and had the breakfast for free for him (even though we have paid for 2 children and 2 adults in the reservation).

Besides of the checkin, the stay was ok. The concierge service was excellent, as they are the real heroes of this place and literally helps out with every thing.

Rooms:
The room we had were very much outdated, and small as we had to squeeze in another bed for my son. The rooms could definitely need some maintenance and renovation.
The beds though was very comfortable and the room had a good view.

Cleaning:
The cleaning was excellent.

Breakfast:
Quite disappointing. Bad coffee, very limited international options and very overcrowded in the morning no matter what time you come.

Location:
Great location very close to Petronas Towers and the KLCC park.

Pool:
We did not try it, but looked fine.

Checkout process:
Easy with no problems.

Overall impression:
Outdated hotel, could definitely need upgrades. Besides of the checkin, the hotel staff was pleasent and accommodating. Good location. Breakfast could be much better.

Not sure if it is a Malaysian nation wide rule, apparently if you don't stay in this hotel you are not allowed to use their washroom. Doesn't matter you have a child crying or on wheelchair or in whatever situation that requires help. I'm not sure if I'd ever want to stay here with their staff's attitude. 😅

Dear Guest We apologize for the inconvenience caused. It is not our intention to turn away anyone who needs to use our facilities (if they are not hotel guests). It is a case of Security alert, as we may not know where the guest is coming from or going to as they are not registered. If I may suggest, the nearest shopping mall in our area would be Avenue K or KLCC. Anyways, thank you so much for your feedback! We will keep in mind.
