Located in the heart of the city, Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is lauded for its prime location with easy access to the city's attractions and breathtaking views of the Petronas Towers. Guests have celebrated the hotel's cleanliness and the serene atmosphere, particularly the Grand Club and Thirty8 restaurant.
While the spacious rooms with panoramic views are a highlight, some guests have pointed out issues with upkeep. The hotel's amenities, including diverse dining options, a gym, and a pool, are often praised, though opinions on value vary due to hidden charges and inconsistent service.

Had a great stay. Nice pool and fast & very helpful service. Bed was comfy, rooms are quiet and bar/restaurant has a great selection on drinks and food. Room bar charges for water bottles but you can have free glasses of water at the lobby. The outside pool and quite big and nice with great view on the Petronas Towers.

+1
I stayed for one night and this time I chose the corner deluxe room which have move ground to ceiling windows and the room is much more spacious. My room is facing the convention centre which is currently going through a construction so there is not much of a view I’m afraid. If the room is facing the twin tower then it would have been much better.
What I like about the room is the layout is good and spacious. I like the big windows with a lot of natural lights coming into the room. There is a QR code that you can scan to view the amenities that you can request and I must say they do have quite a list of things you can actually ask for. Usually it doesn’t come with the room when you check in but you can ask for the additional things in their list. So many sure you check it out.
Now for a few things which I don’t really like. First of all the room is big when you walk in but the tv is kind of out of place in the big spacious room. You should be providing a bigger screen tv. Also the furnitures have seen better days I’m afraid. The bed headboard I can see really big tears and scratches all over and it is a eye sore to be honest. It looks like someone have use a blade or something and start cutting and scratching the headboard.
During this COVID 19 period it is good that in the public area you can see hand sanitizer provided almost every corner of the hotel. That is good and for each room you can request for a bottle of hand sanitizer as well. You need to call to request for it. It is not in the room.
Check in wasn’t that good really. I walk to the counter and the lady was kind of busy with something and didn’t even acknowledge me and just let me stand in front of the counter and wait while she is doing her things. I think this is a no no need especially when you are in the service Industry. Whatever it is you need to acknowledge your guests and if you are busy at least just let them know you are attending to something else and will get back to you shortly rather than treating your guest like they are invisible. I didn’t like that at all and it felt a bit awkward actually when I’m standing there and waited and waited to be served.
Overall I think the stay was more than ok but it could have been better. The service could have been better to mAke me feel welcome more and there is definitely room for improvement. But my personal opinion, there are better 5 star hotels around that area definitely which have a better service and made me feel welcome and make me wanted to go back and stay with them again the moment I checked out.

Dear Bliybliy, Thank you for being our guest and sharing your thoughts. It is pleasing to hear your views on the spacious room layout and ‘Missing Must-haves’ programme, always a favourite with guests. The refurbishment enhancement suggestion is much appreciated too, rest assured this will be looked into in future. The feedback regarding check in experience was not consistent with the standard of service that we try and deliver to our guests, for certain the comment has been taken on board most positively by the colleague concerned. She will learn from this shortcoming and is committed to be more receptive moving forth. We love another opportunity to be of service again and hope to welcome you back to a seamless stay experience next time. Best regards, Anumodit Chaturvedi Director of Rooms

Pulling up at the Grand Hyatt and asked to check in on the 39th Floor (Skylobby) was novel, the first time. Then it became irritating that you had to go to the 39th to then catch another lift down to the floor for your room.
Be careful of which room you choose, there is a lot of construction in the area and a Park View room may end up being a view of construction adjacent to a park. If you're in KL for some work and some relaxation be mindful of where the TV is located in your room, most are located above the desk, which means you can't be working and someone watch telly at the same time.
The Breakfast experience was average and not up to the standard of other similarly priced hotels nearby. Unfortunately, the Grand Hyatt in KL relies on a Nespresso machine to make your coffee in the morning. That's sort of okay for maybe a day, then you go out in search of a real coffee which defeats the purpose of having breakfast at the hotel. The quality of the food was average and they were constantly running out of things which we couldn't explain as they were not very busy during our stay.
With regards to getting around KL make sure you download the GRAB app, its there equivalent to UBER and it works really well and is reasonably priced. Do not get the hotel concierge to arrange a taxi for you. Our experience consisted of the concierge charging us 100RM charge for a regular taxi that showed 33RM on the meter at the end of our journey. The stupid thing was the taxi's were parked right out front. Our recommendation is use Grab and choose the middle tier quality ride.
Finally, we need to remind travellers that they need to check their room at the end of the day for toilet tissue to ensure they don't experience a 2am run to the bathroom with no toilet tissue and have to call guest services in an embarrassing state. Now you would think when you're paying more than 1 month pay for 90% of Malaysians for one weeks stay you would get a turn down service where things like toilet paper would be checked. Sorry not at the Grand Hyatt in KL.
We would not stay there again and have crossed the brand off our list when travelling.

Dear sjahshan, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback. I believe my colleague had been flexible with regard to the room selection and did offer alternative option for room at minimal rate including waiving the late check out charges at that point in time. Also, taxis at the hotel are arranged through an outsourced company on fixed fare basis for airport journey which are likely to have a difference in fare from other street taxis due to reliability and quality of experience. Having said that, I understand this may not have been explained properly and how this resulted in an underwhelming experience. In regards to breakfast, if there is specific feedback on the offerings or items missed, please let Rolf our Executive Chef know directly at rolf.knecht@hyatt.com to ensure he will act on all comments for further improvement. Housekeeping’s shortcoming was definitely not in line at all with our usual standards and will most certainly be addressed. Rest assured we have taken all comments on board for remedial actions and learning for the future. Please contact me at anumodit.chaturvedi@hyatt.com for any further assistance and hopefully you will give us another opportunity to reinstate your confidence in us and welcome you back some day. I have been a loyal Hyatt member for many years and I am gradually seeing the drop in quality of Grand Hyatt KL over the years. The basic room amenities are no longer fully provided, certain amenities has to be requested. The in-room dining is no longer satisfactory, they recently changed it but only by a bit. The room cleanliness and bed is still excellent. The front desk personnel, gym and in-room dining personnel are very friendly. Gym is still in good condition. I like the fact they have taken a step to provide glass bottled water rather than plastic bottles.

Brilliant hotel with really lovely staff who made an occasion we were celebrating truly special. The location is also absolutely fantastic near KLCC Park and can recommend the Petronas towers view rooms if available.
Notwithstanding all of that I am not ashamed to say that breakfast was the most amazing thing about this hotel. It had to be the best choice, quality and presentation we have experienced and cannot recommend it enough.
Overall a great base for exploring KL or just relaxing by the lovely pool area.

Booked a club suite tower view room for two nights (approx 1000rm/night). For sure one of the most expensive hotels in the city, but for sure worth it. Views from the room are top class, especially at night.
Would definitely investigate upgrading to a club room, breakfast is included that way and the ‘afternoon tea’ is more like an informal dinner service. However, you’d miss out on some of KL’s amazing local food. Brekkie is what you’d expect of a 5* hotel/ probably better.
Swimming pool is very good, however they kick everyone out with the slightest bit of rain (which is quite often in this region). There’s an indoor spa area with a hot tub/sauna/steam but split boys and girls.
I’d definitely avoid the restaurant, 500RM dinner for two is way too expensive for the city and more in line with prices you’d spend in Europe.

Stayed in Grand Tower View Suite.
Negatives
1. Staff members handling reservations don't seem to know the amenities in the rooms very well. So guests come in expecting A, but receive anything but. Embarassing that they give customers wrong information during the reservation process.
2. Staff members don't seem to know their own policies during the pandemic - we were told we could get Grabfood or Foodpanda to deliver and the staff could send the food to our room, but when I did that the first night I was there, I got a "oh we will get back to you on whether it's possible" over the phone after I had already placed the order. But thankfully there weren't any issues.
3. The buffet beakfast at Thirty8 is just okay.
4. Price of food at Thirty8 is unjustifiable. The food is overrated.
5. Some things were not working in the room when I checked in and I had to ask for a technician to come in.
Positives
1. Staff members apologised profusely regarding the misinformation that was given to me during reservation. Duty Manager Zaim went above and beyond to rectify this mistake and I would like to commend his efforts. Note : the particular staff from the Reservations Department who misinformed me never bothered to apologise.
2. The room is very big. Love the bathroom in particular. The view of the Twin Towers from this room is amazing.
3. The gym is fantastic. They were well equipped with full sets of dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells.
Suggestions for improvement:
1. To be more environmentally sustainable. Eg: Reduce plastic consumption - instead of sending 4 - 5 mineral water bottles to the room, how about having a water dispenser in every room.
2. To have ceiling fans in all rooms in addition to the aircond(s). Some of us don't need the aircond switched on 24/7 and would like to have the option of using the fan instead. Plus, the room would be less stuffy if there was a fan.
3. To have Smart TVs with Netflix and its equivalents in ALL the rooms. In the year 2021, I'm sure you will agree that having RTM channels and selected ASTRO channels is nothing to be proud of when your rates are higher than other hotels' rates. RTM/Astro are below the bare minimum requirements for a "modern" hotel like Grand Hyatt.
4. Staff members to be 100% sure of the amenities and facilities to avoid misinformation and embarrassment.
5. To have a turndown service.
Overall experience: 6/10

Cane for a stay during the covid-19 pandemic. I was very impressed in the way they handle their hygiene protocol. While they did not put a seal (sticker) on the door (unlike many other hotels) Nevertheless, I had no doubt that they had sanitised their room.
I stayed in a Grand Suite with connecting room. In my rush to confirm the booking (plus the le petit chef dinner), I failed to mentioned I wanted a room with the Twin Tower view. I realized the mistake when i reached the room. I did mentioned that the booking was to celebrate my wife birthday. As WOH member, I wished that thy had given the tower view room or at the very least should have reminded me whether i wish to hv a room with the tower view. (This is not a complaint, but a wish that it had taken place)
The room was big, clean and the amenities were good. My kids enjoyed their room very much.
The breakfast at Thirty8 (38th floor) was excellent. Their hygiene protocol was one of the best. They only thing that made me uncomfortable that it was very very crowded.
One last note, Hyatt service, as usual, was very good and of high standard. Their staff are friendly, attentive and always on top of their game. I wish many hotel staff were as well trained.
Will certainly stay at this place again.
(For overseas visitor, this hotel is situated in a convenient part of KL, KLCC and Park are within walking distance. So is the Bukit Bintang and Jalan Imbi area. Other tourist paces are only a short drive away, You can just hop into a Grab, you would be ther in no time.)
We booked the hotel during the promotion rate with inclusive bfast, extra bed for kids, late checkout and afternoon tea at thirty8. And i must say that was the best deal ever! We booked deluxe room which is HUGE and plenty spaces for the kids to run around. The gym, sauna, whirlpool bath are all accessible and we fully utilized them.
But the breakfast spread was not as nice as I thought it would be. Limited choices of food, not as good as other 5star hotel in KL and gosh it was so hot and sweaty since the seating area are all by the window.
We spent most of the time at the pool too as they provide kids float and kickboard. You can use the gazebo with great view of klcc too! We ordered snacks from the cafe and the portion was HUGE and good enough for my kids to gobble in between their swim.
Thumbs up!

I have no idea I’m afraid you will need to contact the hotel for that
Hi there Stefani N.. As per ur queries, u simply can walk 2 directions; one is turn right from the main entrance from the said hotel; and simply walk all the way to your right; and along the way simply walk ahead and then walk diagonally u will see open carpack access for vehicles to drive through and out from that area; in which; it will be around Mandarin Hotel area; approximately about 10 mins to 15 mins walk; or if not turn left; and left again from the hotel main entrance into KLCC; and goes down the escalator leading to the Suria KLCC Mall basement or can lead to the KLCC Park where u need to go up back the escalator again along the way; same duration all in about 10 minutes to 15 minutes; very convenient; doesn't need to take any public transport; by walking itself is reachable to your intended destination.
Hi, no sorry, I don't know as I did not use the pool.
