This is a late review since my membership with the hotel will expire this May 2023. First, the hotel was ofcourse, grand... The hotel was always full of guests. The people at the front desk were professional, assisting you in the best way they could, a smile from them could add more points , as they were all serious, maybe because as i said so many guests always. The breakfast buffet and dinner buffet was ofcourse plenty and delicious but really expensive, maybe because of the name it carries, Manila Hotel... I so like the free chocolate with the hotel design, i even kept the box package as a souvenir. The only problem that concern me a lot is the location, since it is within the tourist spot location which is a plus for tourists.. but for me i prefer hotel near a supermarket for a quick errands, restaurants for other choices of food, nevertheless , manila hotel will always be another option for me to stay.

I was expecting a “grandeur” experience but I think I expected too much. We booked the Champagne room for our Wedding Anniversary dinner with the children and booked a couple of rooms for overnight. Thanks to the expertise and good reservation personnel Arielle, we got a great deal on both dinner and overnught stay. The hotel was fully booked that time and several occasions or events were going on at the same time do the lobby and elevators were a bit chaotic. The welcoming staff tried their best to manage the people’s going ons and security was excellent. Check in and check out was a breeze despite the volume of guests checking in and checking out. We even had a chance to try their spa, as a treat from one of our children and it was very nice. Over-all, our experience was nice, just a little short from our expectations!

Being from QC, an overnight staycation at the other end of the metro by the bay is a welcome respite for us, and The Manila Hotel delivers quite well, particularly as this was for my birthday last April 29. Check in was a breeze and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. The lobby is as spectacular as it has always been. The room we picked at the tower wing was modern in its conveniences, and has enough Filipino character that distinguishes it from the typical modern hotels. We had a great night’s sleep, and had the pool practically to ourselves once it opened at 7:00 AM. The pool starts to fill up with people around 10:00 AM until after sunset, so we definitely avoided that. Breakfast buffet does not disappoint as well. All in all, we’re looking forward to staying at The Manila Hotel again in the near future.

Had a very pleasant family holiday in this hotel in January 2023. Having stayed here before we expected excellent service but I must admit that the breakfast service in the Ilang Ilang restaurant did fall slightly below the hotel's usual high standards. I suspect they lost some experienced staff during the pandemic and were just getting back on their feet. Special shout out to Michael who gave us an exclusive tour of the hotel museum and the MacArthur suite which was much appreciated.

We only had one night here and sadly our flight in was delayed, so even less time. The foyer is grand and the staff friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, we were in the old building, and the bed was huge and comfy. There was welcome fruit, English channel tv and a good shower. We had happy hour in the cocktail bar and breakfast was amazing with lots of food stations - I love a good coffee but my latte was a let down. The pool is fabulous. We booked here as I wanted a look at Intramuros but we arrived to late. I would definitely stay here if in Manila again.

A 5 star hotel from the old city of Manila near by the port, Museums, Manila Ocean Park, Luneta Park, ground zero of Philippines. Great hotel if you want to a city tour in Manila. With Valet parking, great options of different restaurants, bar, swimming pool, banquets and events. Take-away food services are also available, Buffet breakfast/Lunch/Dinner is also available. Better book in advance as they are always full.

Stayed here for two nights with my SO. This hotel was a doozy. Luckily we were able to check-in really early, like around 11AM. We were provided with the room of our choice -– a Grand Deluxe Room. Our initial room was in Room 267 of the old building. Sadly, this room had a certain faint smell of solvent, some stains in the toilet bowl, poor electrical wiring and the dealbreaker, crawling cockroaches on the nightstand (which possibly ran on my drink). I contacted the front desk and requested to switch rooms. We were granted such request and transferred to Room 407 in the new building. I went to the front desk and asked to be comped for my coffee with a replacement cup of brewed joe. Luckily, I was able to record some footage of the cockroach in question from our old room and show it to the concierge and the manager in charge. Peter, the manager on duty, offered to upgrade us to a Tower Suite in the new building as compensation. He even offered to carry our luggage to the new room. I didn't hesitate to take the new unit, since room 407 had pretty slow internet albeit a better looking and more modern design. We transferred to room 1626 in the tower wing, our final room for the entire stay and must I say this room was beautiful. It had a picturesque view of Intramuros and its golf course from the windows. The bathroom was more than clean and was in tip top shape. The bed was very comfortable and spacious to sleep in, albeit a bit firm for my liking. We also did a tour of the heritage museum and General Douglas MacArthur's suite. Aira, their trainee, was able to accommodate us and tour us amidst her brief tenure in the hotel. She was more than knowledgeable in the hotel's rich history and idiosyncrasies. This leads me to speak of their service. Compared to my previous staycation in a competing hotel weeks ago, the Manila Hotel's service was blazing fast. Their staff is more than attentive to our needs. From requesting the engineering department to repair the HVAC filter in our first room, to housekeeping being prompt in their nightly turndown service, they never ceased to impress us. Breakfast at Cafe Ilang-ilang was so-so. Though very much varied in terms of options, the taste was pretty par for the most part. I don't get the hype behind it, but it was pretty decent for nourishing us up until dinner time. Overall, our stay in the hotel was a positive one. Would recommend to stay here again, and if given a choice, stay in the tower wing/new building because the rooms there are better kept.

This is one of the most famous historical hotels in Asia. Although majestic it is modern enough and has every amenity one could ask for. Rooms are well appointed, service is excellent and the breakfast buffet is beyond extravagant. And the prices will surprise you. Unless fully booked they are extremely modest for such a luxury hotel in Manila. Highly recommend a stay here!
