I went there in may to go mountain biking at Tsali right next door..so its convenient for that aspect of it but other than that I think I'd rather stay in a tent...I smelled alcohol coming off the owner when I arrived...ok..odd but whatever...the room looks clean but it SMELLS like a musty old run down house...everything in the room...

The best things I can say about the room is that it was cleaned daily and well maintained for it's age as well as the price and it is very convenient to NOC and Bryson City and the surrounding campgrounds. If you are just looking for a cheap place to sleep at and take a shower at in the area...

Jim is very friendly and great to work with at Freeman's. We rented the one bedroom cabin which was just fine for my Son & I. it was great, we were really only there for breakfast and bedtime. It's just 2 miles to Tsali and 5-10 minutes to Nantahala Outdoor Center (NOC) for rafting and restaurants. We will go back...

I have stayed here a few times over the years. I come back because the service is so friendly. The room is always clean and the location is close to the swimming lake and the Nantahala. My go to spot to stay in the Gorge when I need a hotel.

This is an old motel with cabins in back. Rooms are clean and customer service was just fine for us. Location is in perfect spot for bikers. If you are white table cloth up tight kind of person. This place isn't for you.

It's tough to coordinate our schedules with jobs and families but yet again we are happy here at Freeman's. There was a race at Tsali on Saturday so we had to detour and try out the Jackrabbit trails. As usual we drove in from Raleigh, stopped for gas and groceries in Bryson City, and checked in at Freeman's. This has...

If you're in the mountains to have a game room and watch T.V. then go rent an overpriced cabin. This motel is a gem from the 1950's and so well preserved. You can see from all other reviews that the rooms are basic; that's no exaggeration. I had two beds, a vanity, and a night stand in our room. The...

We had a wonderful weekend. It was very clean. I wasn't expecting much after the reviews on here. Definitely not luxury. But, it was warm and had a great shower. Pretty scenery all around. I will return.

Good friends and I have stayed here for years now, seven or eight times now. Indeed RUSTIC is the word, but we've stayed in many of the cabins. They are clean, they are comfortable, and the price is low. The Tsali trailhead is two minutes away. Come enjoy Stainy the Sofa, Leany the Loveseat, Luke the Locked 19"TV- it's real...

2 buddies and I stayed there 4 nights for a mountain bike trip to nearby Tsali. You can't get closer to the trailheads without camping in the park. For a bunch of guys who aren't spending a lot of time in the cabin and during peak tourist season, worked out fine. Owner and manager is as nice and honest as...
