Comfortable private room with additional clothes storage area, although bathroom shared with another bedroom. First floor , some light from street, but quiet. off of main living area with fire; big dining room and excellent kitchen. Slightly cold in October, and initially difficult to reach hostel supervisor. Much prefer this hostel with interesting guests to an expensive hotel.

I love this place. It's my second time visiting, and I will definitely stay there again when I go to see a play for the Shakespeare Festival. It is a eight minute walk to the Elizabethan Theatre and Lithia Park. I love that other play-goers sit around the family room and kitchen talking about the plays afterwards. Cozy reading space...

This was a nice little place to stay. Pretty much downtown. A bit different than most hostels I've stayed at. No alcohol, no smoking. And you must make a reservation before showing up. It's possible that no one will be there to let you if you don't arrange to meet someone there first. It is just a house with no...

Love the vibe of this place. We've been coming here for around 7 years. It is always very comfortable (the bed downstairs was fabulous), quiet and clean. Hope to be back soon! So glad the new owner is keeping the hostel going! Air B and Bs are a dime a dozen.

I was pleasantly surprised when I booked a private room for two nights at the Ashland Hostel. The prices were extremely reasonable (less that half of what I would have paid at a hotel) and my room was cozy, quiet and clean. It honestly felt like staying at my grandmother's house, and it was very safe and nice after a...

Wonderful, home-based atmosphere, comfy lounge areas, & a beautiful kitchen with appliances to chef if preferred. I decided to stay two nights due to a few reasons: the good rest available; learned travelers moving through, & the ideal location to town. I was able to walk everywhere & leave my motor in park. Check this hostel out! 🌟 there's a...

I love everything about this stay: the warm, welcoming hostesses, the charming 100-year old house awash in character, the friendly atmosphere, the clean, neat appearance. If my travels bring me to Ashland another day, I will certainly choose to stay here again.

Can't say enough about my two nights at the Ashland Hostel last July. I stayed in a semi-private room (shared bath, private bed off the women's dorm). My hosts were wonderful and it was great to have a kitchen to store snacks and have coffee. Everything was super clean, which is always my big concern in a shared space. The...

My stay at the Ashland hostel was the best! I was lucky to get the almost last bed (girl "dorm" upstairs) and Annie was the most helpful when I arrived in Ashland, after a long drive and not knowing much about what I was gonna do next. The place is oh so charming and you feel at home right away,...

This is a reasonably-priced option for folks staying in Ashland, but the reasons to stay here go far beyond the price. It is perfectly located near downtown in a lovely old house. The rooms and shared kitchen are clean and comfortable and the hosts are the perfect balance of friendly and not-in-your-face. The house rules are perfectly reasonable and clearly...
