Based on positive reviews we stayed here. However, our experience was quite different. The Jade Room was quite dusty, the bathroom wasn't very clean, the Keurig for guests was in need of a serious cleaning. I could go on but I won't. I hesitated writing a review but felt it was necessary. We've stayed at other B & Bs with much better experiences.

Response from Amethyst Inn, Innkeeper at Amethyst Inn & Cottages
Responded 22 Nov 2023
It was really nice meeting you. We are sorry you have such a negative impression. We recall sharing a very nice time over breakfast. We always try our best to serve our guests, but we clearly are not perfect. It's the first time we received a one star review, we will make sure we do better next time. Thank you for your stay.

The inn was beautiful on the outside and inside. We stayed in the Topez room the bed was very comfy and the jacuzzi tub was amazing. The inkeeper provided us with an upgrade for our second night in the Jade room. this room was very cozy as well. Get there early due to crowded parking area, but definitely worth an other stay.

The hosts were more than gracious. Told us about a great running trail nearby, and a little history of the Inn. Would stay again before back to the Midwest this year. We only stayed one night but had a blast with outside balcony with swing and table and chairs. Also the hot tub was comforting.

Such a charming bed and breakfast. The house was simply decorated wonderfully. A mix of years past and modern. I loved all the culture she shared in each room. We stayed in the Amber room. Oh the massage shower and jet tub was just what the doctor ordered. My husband and I both struggle with ailing backs. His being the worst at the moment. It was simply wonderful to sit in the tub and look at the fire place. I would have sat in the massage shower forever. The Hostess was delightful. She was very informative on the room. She was a perfect mix of friendly and giving us our space. On checkout I expressed my interest in the building and furniture. She happily gave me a tour, showing me all the rooms and allowed me to soak up all it's charms. We will definitely be staying here again.…

The hosts were very personable and friendly. Our room was spacious, and we loved the electric wood burning stove! It was a cozy, "old fashioned" way of heating the room! The breakfast was off the charts -- the French toast was the best ever. Thanks for a special stay!

Amazing location. The host were so nice and helpful. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The Amber room was exquisite. Very comfortable bed, spacious room great air conditioning. The best part was the aromatherapy whirlpool and the European massage shower unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. This place is 5 star quality at affordable prices. A great weekend getaway!

My wife and I wanted to go away for our 10th anniversary but not go to far. This was our first time at a B&B and we weren't sure what to expect, this place not only knocked it out of the park but we are now fans of the experience. Our host was very helpful and friendly and our room was immaculate.

Wow! This was our first experience at a bed and breakfast, the owners were the nicest people we’ve met in a long time. Everything was clean, the food was delicious. The French toast was award worthy! The rooms are quiet and private. We absolutely loved everything about the inn! We will be back again! The owners made us feel like family, and were so welcoming to us! Oh, and the cheesecake/chocolate cake was divine! If you’re headed to the Adamstown/Lancaster area definitely stay here! 💜

My husband and I spent the weekend of Oct 15th at this amazing little B&B. Upon arrival we were delighted with the beautiful architecture of the house. And the mix of modern with vintage made it perfect for us. We were greeted by Allie, who ALWAYS has a smile on her face. She is warm, inviting, knowledgeable and pays great attention to her guests AND the inn. We were shown to our room (The Ruby Suite), and shown the dining room and the coffee alcove (complete with slices of chocoalte cake for guests in the fridge). She answered all our questions and we settled in. The suite was amazing. Big, fluffy towels and warm, comfy robes. The next morning we met Andrew and had the first of our 2 DELICIOUS breakfasts that weekend. Do yourself a favor. Book a room at this darling little B&B. The furnishings, the beautiful glassware, the peace and quiet are worth it. But the best part? Allie and Andrew! The set the bar HIGH for all our future stays anywhere! Thank you both for sharing your little gem with us. For hooking us on hami melon and for just giving us one of the coolest weekends ever! You guys are rock stars!!…
