If Favorite “Sun” and I had a top 5 favorite hotels list, then the Staybridge Suites Allentown would definitely make the cut. This is an extended stay hotel complete with complimentary amenities for your comfort… and what they don’t have in the room, the staff goes out of its way to find them or a solution. Speaking of the STAFF… they are fantastic!!! Every time we arrive, they treat us like family returning home, and I really appreciate how kind they are to my kid. Thank you Meghan, Robbie, and Lameika for making our stays so enjoyable.
Now, let’s get into the room!! First, they are SPOTLESS and designed like mini apartments with a kitchen (with dinnerware, cookware, microwave, and fridge), bathroom with tub, extra pillows and blankets. We continue to be impressed with the housekeeping staff’s attention to cleanliness… especially the floors and the carpet, which were “eat off the floor clean”. In the morning there is a full breakfast which was pretty good; get there early because it is super crowded. The gym is adequate and there is a pool although we didn’t use it. Can the hotel possibly add two more waffle makers? It’s a popular area and causes quite the traffic jam in such a small space. Just a thought…

Traveler tips: Target (for good grocery deals), Panera Bread, Mensi’s Fro Yo, 5 Below (if you have kids like me), and a gas station are all across the street. There is also a Red Robin and Sonic, although I don’t recommend… (too many inconsistencies.. don’t say I didn’t warn you); Fave Sun instead encourages a try at Miller’s Brewhouse for the handcut fries and burgers (which is in the Target plaza)… I promise, he did not try the brews!!🙂

** sorry, just one more thing to note: while I can appreciate pet lovers who love on their dogs, some people are pet averse. Bringing your Great Dane or St. Bernard to breakfast is not only unsanitary, but totally uncool; not to mention, these dogs have an intimidating presence. No… I do not wish to have dog slobber with my meal and there were kids who were afraid to go into the dining area. Please don’t put the staff in an unfair and awkward position to ask you to remove your pet from the food table… instead… read the very small breakfast room!!

Had a lacrosse tournament over a long wkend at Lehigh University. Lehigh Athletic Fields are a 15min drive away, so this hotel location was very convenient. They were able to accomodate us (2 adults, 2 teens) for 3 nights.

Room 201 has a noisy AC unit and vent, but otherwise it was a clean room with a mini kitchen (full fridge). The mini kitchen and full fridge was great for us, since our game schedule had us out the door before breakfast was open. The freezer also made ice, which was also convenient, since we had coolers to fill each day.

The king size bed was comfortable. The sofa-bed mattress needs updating. Shower had good water pressure and had shampoo, soap and body wash pumps in the shower. Used the hair dryer, which was in good condition. Overall, the room, linens and sheets were clean and adequate for our stay. Had our room cleaned once during our 3 night stay.

This hotel also has a pool, hot tub and nice outdoor space for gathering. The pool and hot tub areas were clean and kept up okay.

The manager (Shawna?) was super helpful and she was very friendly and helpful in updating our reservation.

We've stayed here several times during the 2021-2022 ski season. The two bedroom suite worked well when all three of us stayed here. The breakfast is good in the current pandemic times; vegetarian-friendly, with hot food, cereal, juice, fruit, breakfast bars, etc. I wish the weekend breakfast started earlier than 7:30, which would work better with Blue Mountain's 8 am weekend opening time. Exercise room has free weights. Quiet location, many restaurant options nearby. Reasonable TV channel options. The rooms have been very warm on arrival; turning off the heat for a while for a reset before restarting the heat has been effective for comfort.

We reserved a two room suite for 10 days. We purposely booked here as the reviews were “excellent”. We had hoped to save some money and cook a few meals without having to dine out or grab and go due to covid.
After driving 12 hours to get to Bethlehem we arrived and were immediately hit with the strong smell of marijuana in the atrium and hallways. We continued to walk to our room to unload all of our belongings and walked into a room that, not only smelled like really bad air freshener, but had clearly not been cleaned properly, if at all.
The refrigerator was missing the bracket that holds items into the door. The stove was dirty and had crumbs, along with the counter and the table. The dishes were comprised of stained plastic Tupperware. The coffee maker was missing, the floors were not vacuumed and we had zero confidence that the linens were clean.
We were given a new room one floor above which, while smelled a bit fresher, still was not nearly acceptable. Dirty kitchen and a stained bed skirt made our decision to leave easy. We reloaded all of our belongings on the cart as my husband made us a new reservation at the Courtyard on Emrick.
When leaving and checking out I told the manager that we just could not stay, he was very apologetic and completely understood. I mentioned that they clearly have a weed problem and he told me they were aware and were working on it.
Unfortunately, the hotel seems to have become a replacement apartment for many, and while we recognize that people find themselves in unfortunate circumstances, the overall feel of this Staybridge left both of us feeling anxious and unsafe.

I recently had a pleasant stay at this hotel for two weeks. As I am not a traveler or hotel frequenter, I have to acknowledge the fact that my stay away from home was made extremely pleasant and accommodating. There is a very humble and attentive concierge named Kayla Klecner who was very helpful in acclimating me with all of the local must-do's that I need to know about and where they were located. To my surprise my company sent me back to this very same hotel last week and I observed Kayla offer a guest to not only change their room due to refrigeration issue, but offered to personally help the guest move their belonging as a helping hand. I really appreciate great service no matter what so its always a wonderful experience when a person not only goes above and beyond, but when you can tell that person is not simply trying to earn a check, but when its done with a smile and very caring heart. Staybridge did an awesome job in acquiring
such an awesome associate in Kayla Klecner. I hope that she is honored and recognized for this review and her outstanding and caring service to me and the other guests that I saw her assist every night with a warm smile and affirmative resolutions that bring an atmosphere of home. THANK YOU KAYLA...AND Thank you Staybridge.

We stayed here for two nights while wrapping up details on a new home. We love Staybridge Suites and seek them out wherever we can! Sadly, because of this I didn’t read the reviews for this hotel … I assumed it would be par for the course. I was so wrong.

This hotel at the very least is rundown. Incredibly neglected and on the edge of needing to be closed until the issues are fixed would be a better description.

We booked two nights and upon walking to our room I wish I would have switched hotels. The first floor clearly has major issues with water leaks or something. There were huge fans directed at the carpets…. but the SMELL. A strange, rancid, sour yet musty aroma that was almost unbearable. And in the hear of the day it got worse. Which honestly, I didn’t think possible.

We took the stairwell to our room (that was carpeted and obviously intentionally open to be well trafficked) which had a huge piece of sheet rock cut out to reveal the pipes in the wall and a rickety piece of plywood propped up plywood to cover it. This stayed this way the entire length of our trip. Our room was musty and smelly also. The furniture was beyond tired: had scratches, was peeling, with spots and holes. The Bathroom had paint peeling off the walls. We asked for bedding for the pull out couch and received a comforter with a rather large hole in it. It felt like the grime, the odor, the over tired furniture and the problems just didn’t end.

I don’t write negative reviews often but this place was just gross. And so disappointing for an IHG Staybridge. I’m writing to save someone else the trouble. I’ll echo the words of another reviewer: Y’all - just don’t do it. Don’t book here. At 150+ a night you can go next door and you’ll have a much better experience.

The staff was fantastic, friendly, helpful, smiling. They upgraded us to a two bedroom suite without us asking for it. The staff gets an A+ The breakfast was very good, the breakfast area kept clean and well stocked. The overall condition of the hotel POOR. It was run down, dirty and although it was a non smoking hotel it stunk like pot and had hundreds of cigarette butts outside of the doors that looked like they were there for months. Our room was on the first floor and the carpet felt funny, you could feel the concrete under it as if the padding was so worn out from shampoos. The room smelled like to was freshly shampooed. There was a gritty feeling on the bathroom surfaces and kitchen surfaces. The airvent over the stove was greasy, there were broken tiles in the bathroom and broken picture frames in the bedroom. The upholstry on the chair in the living space was worn out with holes. All night our room smelled of pot that was extra heavy in the hall. I wrote an email to the company and still have not heard back. The overall condition was definately not up to Staybridge quality.

This hotel is approximately two mile from Coca Cola Park, home of the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs, the AAA affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies.

Thats about the only good thing about it.

Outdoor pool was open, the indoor whirlpool was closed.

I'll be staying next door at the Hilton Garden Inn if I ever return to this area.

I would stay here again, but would ask for a quiet location.
We moved to this hotel after an unpleasant experience with a different hotel chain. The front desk agent allowed us to check in early which was extremely helpful. We had a 2 bedroom suite which was amazing. So much space, and very clean! Well worth it after having to move. Huge bonus, Red Robin is a hop, skip and jump away. The food is decent so we ate there about 3 times. Breakfast at the hotel was also VERY good especially considering it is complimentary. This is a great value because we aren't breakfast people but always enjoy having fruit or scrambled eggs. The waffles were a real treat, and there was also fountain soda. The coffee station is 24 hours which was wonderful as well.

Staff was very nice and super friendly.
Location was great. There is a lot of shopping nearby, also close to Dorney Park and several caves we wanted to visit.

The pool was sufficient. I chose this hotel because it has a seasonal outdoor pool - hard to find in PA. But during the summer, I prefer the outdoor pools at the hotels to enjoy the sunshine.

The one drawback - there was a large family staying at the hotel over the weekend and they pretty much dominated the pool area and BBQ grills, blasting music and yelling/singing so loudly. We bought hot dogs from Omaha Steaks (there is so much good shopping in the area) with a plan to use the grills, but couldn't. They started a party at the pool area from early Friday and continued through Sunday. When we were checking out on Sunday, they were in the elevator with boxes of coronas headed to the pool at 11am. Friday night, they blasted music until 1am, so sleep was awful. My window overlooked the pool. Saturday night it was the same all day, I had to ask the front desk to help lower the music. This wasn't even a reserved party, this was just a very loud group. If this is normal for this hotel, it is likely not a place we'll ever be able to use or recommend.

We stayed at this hotel for the weekend. Let me first say that the staff was very cordial, the facility was nice but a bit rundown, especially inside the rooms.

We checked in and as we went to our room I could immediately tell that there had been pets in our room at some time. I am allergic to cats, bad enough that I break out and wheeze and cannot breathe well at all. After eating dinner we talked to the front desk personnel and asked if this was a “pet room“ and she told me that all the rooms at the hotel allowed pets. If you are allergic to pets you will understand when I say this is not good. Most hotels block off a few rooms that people can bring their pets in and out and stay overnight, which are “pet rooms“. For this reason allowed I would not recommend staying here if you have any allergies.
