We booked for 3 nights but stayed for five. the rooms are clean and roomy. More like apartments. We are not birders, but were open minded and wound up learning a lot and went to several wildlife refuges in the area. The price is right the people are nice.

You could not ask for a more welcoming place in the Rio Grande valley. Our suite was clean, comfortable and spacious. There was a good selection for the optional breakfast and packed lunch. The location was is great for visiting many of the best birding sites in the valley. Finally, Keith and his staff could not have been more helpful...

Centrally located for many birding hotspots in the whole valley. We originally booked 3 nights and ended up staying 10! Very large comfortable , quiet suites with a good breakfast available and lunch selection too ( to pack if wanted), as well as very good restaurants close by. Keith provided excellent updated birding info with maps. An amazingly well equipped...

There's no better place in the Rio Grande Valley to stay than the Alama Inn. Its suites are huge. The one I stayed in for $52 a night had a fully equipped kitchen and a living room and TV as big as mine at home. It's quiet. I hardly heard a noise the entire time I was there, although I...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Alamo Inn. Our suite was comfortable and convenient. If you opted to use the food service, there was a good selection of breakfast and lunch items. There was also a laundry available for guests. And Keith gave us excellent advice about where to go to see interesting birds.

This has been our second birding trip to the Rio Grande Valley and did not hesitate in returning to the delightful Alamo Inn. Keith and his wife Audrey are probably one of the most delightful couples you could ever meet. The rooms are perfect for a birding trip as there is everything you could wish for. The on site laundry...

I have stayed here, in different rooms, over several years and I keep coming back. Keith maintains a clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced inn. He keeps a well stocked refrigerator and a variety of breads, and coffees for those early morning birding trips, all for a very modest price. For any birder wanting to see Bentsen RGV State Park,...

We have stayed here several times and find it by far the best place to stay in the RG Valley for birdwatching or just enjoying the natural areas. Major birding areas in the Central Valley are easily accessible from here including Santa Ana NWR, Quinta Mazatlan, Estero Llano Grande , Bentsen RGV State Park, Edinburgh Wetlands, Anzalduas Park and Hidalgo...
