Older hotel in good condition, beds could be better. If you are staying at the front of the hotel facing the train station, despite the provided ear plugs, you will be awakened by the train horn multiple times throughout the night

Hello, Thank you for your review. The town of Alpine was built as a rail town and way back in 1928 we were built as the finest accommodations for train travelers. As you stated we do offer ear plugs to do our best to accommodate our guests who do not enjoy the sound of the train as it passes. Sincerely,... More

My wife and I spent two nights here while touring Big Bend and came away very impressed with this hotel, the décor was beautiful, the room was very comfortable and the hotel staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Another great example of how hotels used to be in days gone by.

We spent Thanksgiving 2015 in Big Bend. 4 nights at the Holland Hotel. It was great. Great guys at the Lobby bar and everyone else made us feel right at home. Parking was either right on the street in front or the side lot. The Holland is centrally located and it was easy to get in and out of town.... More

If you enjoying staying in historic hotels then this will fit the bill. The rooms are small-remember hotel rooms were originally just for sleeping-but ours had a nice little sitting room alcove. The bed and pillows were comfortable and because it's close to a railroad track, they supplied earplugs. Breakfast was good. Chocolate croissants, chili cheese egg casserole, muffins, yogurt... The room was outstanding and the staff friendly and accommodating. My daughter and wife felt the mattresses were a little hard, but they felt fine to me. Parking was a little limited when the restaurant and bar were full, but we were always able to find an open spot.

Our room was very nicely decorated, super cozy and had a very relaxing jet hot tub. Good rates, great service, charming little town. I just wish they offered room service, but their restaurant downstairs had amazing food. Will definitely stay here again on my next trip to alpine.

We were on a family trip and stopped in Alpine for the night before hitting Big Bend. We had a two room suite on the 3rd floor. The suite was very nice. This is probably not the hotel to visit if you like Holiday Inns and other soul-less franchises. The Holland has always been a hotel, and even though it has been thoroughly and artfully modernized you don't have to use much imagination when you walk down the hallway to think of what it was like 70 years ago. Alpine has a... More

One of the nicest places for the money that I have ever stayed. Absolutely beautiful place. Incredibly social and friendly staff. Has lotso of classic charm, along with some modern amenities like direct tv, fridge, microwave, and cofee maker. Walking distance to everything. Say hi to the ghosts.

Honestly, I don't know if we stayed here during a down time or what. We arrived during the late night, had to wake up some caretaker, ended up in the lobby for what felt like hours, and became subject to a lot of drunk, rowdy, CMT reality show style honky tonk wedding debauchery. When we finally got to our room...it... More

Hello Zach and Shea, I would like to take the time to thank you for writing your review, but I find myself puzzled.
