Everyone at the Maverick Inn did their very best to make us feel comfortable. When we arrived we were advised that we'd been given a complimentary room upgrade - Nice! The rooms are small, but well appointed and very comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was EXCELLENT - scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, fruit - a feast! And we were offered S'mores... The place is indeed stucco....and simple... but for the price I would have expected more. The bathrooms haven't been updated in who knows how long... the room seemed clean enough... but it had a funky smell... beyond old smell...kinda like my granma's basement. The curtains were half on and half off... I guess it's cozy...not enough receptacles to plug in... More

We stayed here maybe 4-5 years ago and except for the brutally cold weather that year in November, enjoyed it. Same time this visit, nicer weather, but greater enjoyment. This place has a lot of history worth reading about. Wonderful staff, comfy room. And breakfast. Recommended.

We stayed here for a short vacay in Big Bend. Motel is Stucco, old SouthWest style. Indoor decor was also period SouthWest. There are several nice outdoor sitting areas. Beds, linens, pillows super comfy. Room was spotless. Breakfast each morning was delish with good selection. There is a train but it was no biggie to us. We really enjoyed our... More

I stayed here with my dog for a night last week. I LOVED this place. The room was clean and simple with an amazing bed, black-out curtains, and little extras like bottles of water, earplugs (train went by 1 time) and the free some-mores kit for the big fire-pit in the courtyard made it a memorable stay. Front desk help... More

Our room was very spacious, nicely decorated and cozy. I loved it. This will now be my go to hotel in Alpine. They also have a friendly black kitty that roams the yards and makes sure you get safely to your cabin.

We pulled in, mainly because Maverick takes dogs, and right away we were taken by the bygone atmosphere of the place. Some parts go back into the 30s and 60s. It had the appearance of one of the Adobe motels that are disappearing along Rt 66 in Albuquerque. We stayed in there suite room. To some, desiring the Hilton, this... More

The room was great, but the motel is situated right next to train tracks. 3 times during the night a train came by right outside my door, blasting their horns to make sure everyone was awake. It was not a restful stay.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. We are delighted that you enjoyed your room, and we know that some people do not enjoy the "song of a passing train". As Alpine is a rail town, there is nothing we can do to overcome that, however we gladly provide ear plugs in every... More

My husband and I recently spent our Anniversary extended weekend here on a recommendation from a friend. This quaint hotel did not disappoint. We wanted to visit the McDonald Observatory, Fort Davis, Marfa and Big Bend and found Alpine to be the perfect location to spring board to all the above mentioned locations for day trips. The staff and service... More

“We stayed in room 31. It was very compfortable with a "Santa Fe" style feel to it. Old wood floors & tile bathroom. The room is very spacious & worked with our 14 mo's crib. Nice, large bathroom however, there was no bath tub. That was fine with us, but FYI. ”
