I found the Highland Inn to be a clean, comfortable, quiet and affordable motel. The mattress on which I slept had a low place in the middle so I tried to stay close to the edge. In spite of that I had a very restful night and would definitely return there if I was back in the Alpine area.

I've stayed at Highland Inn twice over the past year and been very satisfied both times. They are considerably less expensive than most other motels in the area, which was my original motivation, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a neat, clean modern room also. Don't expect fancy- they are utilitarian, but plumbing, fixtures, tv, tile floors, etc are...

Came to register my son for college. The owner was very friendly and talked with my son about college and what to expect. The room was clean even if a little dated but it's obvious the owner is making upgrades. Good working, clean microwave and mini-fridge in the room. There is train noise but that's hard to get away from...

This is s great place to stay if you just need a place to sleep. Sam is working hard to take care of his hotel. He goes out of his way to make sure you have what you need. The rooms are clean and I slept better than I do at home. Looks like Sam has been upgrading the rooms,...

Unless you travel to spend your time in a hotel room there is no better choice in Alpine than the Highland Inn. The room was immaculate - my main requirement when traveling & this hotel excels. There is some train noise but all the hotels in town are going to have that. The staff is great! Sam is friendly &...

I come to Alpine at least once a year and stay for at least 3 or 4 nights. I always stay at the Highland Inn because it is an excellent value relative to the money spent. The place is always very clean and the staff are super friendly. I have stayed at most of the hotels in Alpine - including...

Not fancy, old & run down. But I knew that going in. What surprised me was how clean the room was and I never saw a bug. That's 5⭐️ In my book. We had been on the road for 15 hours, we were exhausted but it was 8 am. The Highland was the ONLY place that would let us check...

Stayed here for 3 nights when in town for the Cowboy Poetry Festival. Needed a place that accepted pets which they do. Sam at checkin, as well as all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Think old school local motel. Still uses actual keys, etc. Not at all fancy but clean and a good stay at $50.

We arrived in Alpine on New Year's Eve driving from Van Horn en route to Big Bend. The last 10 miles was in freezing fog and on icy roads. We arrived in town at 5:15 and the first motel we stopped at closed at 5:00 due to inclement weather! Would not that be the perfec time to be open? Anyway...

I spent three nights at the Highland Inn in Alpine and was perfectly satisfied. I loved the fact that my room had a tile floor. I think that's a great idea for all places of lodging. My king size bed was extremely comfortable, the shower had good pressure, the flat screen TV got lots of good channels and the ac...
