At the crossroads where Town Lake meets downtown, the LINE Austin draws influence from both the surrounding natural beauty and the creative energy that fuels the city. Once home to a jazz club that broadcast live on local radio in the late 1960s, the hotel is part of downtown Austin history and holds a cultural legacy within its walls as unique as the city itself. The LINE is centrally located downtown among Austin's most interesting cultural treasures. Every direction offers something to discover: walk north for a museum day at The Blanton and The Contemporary or ride a bike to the eastside for tacos and drinks on a patio. Stay downtown for a live show at the Paramount Theater, travel across the bridge to the South Congress district or rent a canoe and explore the lake - which also happens to be a river.

We only stayed one night passing through, but got to enjoy the heated pool and the gorgeous scenery! The hotel was super cute and trendy, the staff were excellent and great customer service! The location was perfect, we spent some time downtown checking it out and also had a little room service! Overall wonderful experience!

Hotel's Favourite
I was wowed as soon as arrived the staff open my Uber door for me and welcomed me to the hotel. The lobby of the hotel was absolutely beautiful, welcoming , and warm. Kateryna was very pleasant and informative at checkin and made me feel very welcome. In the lobby they have plenty of space to work or sit to eat a quick bite. I was wowed to see 2 fire places which i definitely sat by every morning to enjoy my morning coffee from their coffee shop and just to relax . My room was very spacious and the design gave me a modern zen feel! The mini bar was fully shocked and convenient. There was also tons of free amenities in the room so honestly you don’t have to bring anything but clothes! During my stay I had a chance to goto P6 which I seen all over TikTok! So I had to go, the staff was extremely friendly and informative of the menu we ordered a few shareable items and ordered tons of different drinks off the menu. P6 is a true vibe , it has a very of the lake and the beautiful city of Austin. I was lucky to see the infamous bats flying and capture some very nice photos of the city from the roof top. I only stayed for 2 nights with was definitely not long enough. Me and my fiancé didn’t wanna leave, we will definitely make this our hotel of choice during our next visit to Austin. Especially since the hotel is close to many attractions and restaurants.

Excellent service, very clean room with a view of the water and centrally located to the SXSW action! The coffee shop downstairs was busy every morning but that was due to the convention. The taco shop downstairs was alright - you can definitely find better tacos in Austin. Otherwise, 10/10 experience at the hotel based on accommodations, service and location.

The hallways are disgusting. New carpet is needed badly. Wall paper is scratched and peeling everywhere. Room service trays sit in the hallway all day. (Ours was in the hallway from 8am until 9pm, 13 hours until we finally called). Elevator cabs were dark and dirty. Wall coverings were in bad shape. The room was clean and view of the lake was nice. Lobby is okay. Food was okay. Location is very good. Honestly very surprised how dirty the halls and elevator were for a hotel in this price range.

Dear PAUL M, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We work around the clock to vacuum and steam clean all the room carpets and hallways, however we apologize if we failed you in this case. We also sincerely apologize for the display of room service trays in the hallways; we will be sure to address this immediately with our team internally. Despite these glitches we thank you for granting us the opportunity to host you. Warmest regards,

This was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had. The hotel itself is just gorgeous. The meeting spaces, the lounge, lobby, pool area and restaurants are so well done. They keep Austin at the center of the design. The staff is what makes this place so special. Everyone was on top of everything we needed. Super attentive and friendly. The location of the hotel can’t be beat. You can walk to great food and shopping and the trail along the river is a great place to walk.

Hotel decor is cool and Veracruz tacos are fire. Staff are super helpful for spots around to check out. The lobby is a buzzing place with lots of conference and event people hanging out and enjoy good time. The music is super chill and it's nice to sit by the fire and have a beverage with good people. Thanks LINE!

I read reviews in advance and found that unfortunately the negative ones were pretty spot on… The hotel is rather dingy and dirty. I think they believe it’s hip for everything to be as dimly lit as it is, but I think it was more to cover how poorly maintained and cleaned the property was. I couldn’t see in the bathroom, even after I requested the make up mirror that also came in only a dim setting. I had requested a quiet room, but as it happened, we got to listen to the wooshing of the elevator all night long. Turn down Service, which was greeted very happily via text as something that would be taken care of straight away translated into a bag of towels being left outside our room, with absolutely nothing being done in the room itself. The staff brings an overly casual attitude to their work, so much so that I felt as if I was putting people out by asking them for some thing. The topper was having had brunch at P6. We were given the ticket after having requested it three separate times. We were not given a pen, so we had to use the QR code in order to complete payment. As a consequence, that bill went straight to a credit card, and not to our hotel room. So when I went to check out and apply the $28 experience fee that you are required to pay to the food and beverage bill I was not permitted to do so. I asked in a variety of ways whether we could back out the one charge and apply it and was just flatly told no. I will say that the only truly positive experience that I had was with the valet. The staff both arriving and departing were incredibly courteous, professional and energetic.

The first room we were given have no lights working in the bathroom. More than an hour later it had not been fixed. I had to ask to change the room, not convenient with two kids. New room was great and the bathroom lighting was very nice. Great shower pressure. We also enjoyed the heated outdoor pool but felt bad about making noise since they had cabanas with couples having romantic dinners around the pool. Paid extra to have a water view room but want to point out it is also the view of main road going across the lake. We ordered dessert for room service in the evening and breakfast. The dessert was really good, but there was nothing kid friendly. Breakfast was also good but not great and they forgot my coffee. On checkout she said she was comping our room service to make up for the room issues, but she only removed the dessert charge. Valet guys were super. There is no one to help get your bags upstairs. Also not easy with kids.

Great location if you are needing to walk around central Austin to access business, restaurant, lake, etc. Older hotel with the 'new, cool vibe' that IMO just misses the mark. The location at Cesar Chavez and Congress on the lake is premium. However it is a complete disaster at rush hour. Expect to wait as much as 10 minutes trying to pull into traffic from a poorly designed lobby entrance and parking garage. They are home to one of the best taco stands around in my opinion, love the breakfast tacos. Rooms are modernized, but dark and you can end up with some unappetizing views (like a parking deck). I went hunting for coffee n the room and later for cups/glasses, never found them, but at check out they told me they were in the closet. Really? i did look in the closet, but didn't see those items. Some signage would be nice. Went to get an early drink before dinner but the lobby bar/restaurant wasn't open yet. Find out later there are 2 other bars, Some signage would be nice. 11 story tower has only 2 elevators (which isn't great at key times). Turns out one of the elevators was down for maintenance. Front desk said it would be fixed 'soon' as maintenance was 'working on it'. Never saw maintenance and it wasn't fixed by the time i checked out. Some signage would be nice. Literally the day before I was at a Marriot, and they had taped a sign to one of their elevators indicating it was down, which is cool, stuff breaks, and it keeps me from standing in front of an elevator that says it's on my floor and pushing the button wondering why the door won't open. Super nice people. D minus for communication. The one working elevator was moldy/musty smelling IMO and a bit busted up. Also, watch for the hidden fees. they will tack on $30+ for 'amenities', which is con language for 'we want more of your money for stuff a hotel should have but don't want it to show in our rate'. Also about $60 for valet with taxes. So my $278 room was well over $400 at check out (no food or drinks). Net, net Hard Pass in my book, stay at ZaZa
