An amazing experience! We feel so lucky to have got the chance to experience such authenticity and culture at Serere. The staff really go to extremes to ensure your satisfaction. The guides were excellent and good fun and will tailor each trip to the group. The food was excellent. I got badly bitten unfortunately which tainted my enjoyment somewhat so...

It is a jungle. Beautiful, ecofriendly and filled with life. Don't be expecting luxury. Expect a wonderful Amazon adventure that you can't help but share. Our guide, Rigoberto showed us monkeys (we were lucky enough to see 4 different varieties), crocs, bats, wild pigs, birds of all sorts, and many huge and interesting trees, plants and insects. Walking around with...

We did the 3 day 2 night jungle experience with Madidi travel. Our guide Rodrigo was absolutely fantastic - his English was great and he had an incredible knowledge of the jungle. The accommodation was great - we felt totally immersed by nature in our lodges. We were lucky enough to see lots of animals including capybara, tarantulas, tapir, a...

amazing experience! haven't been to Madidi so I can't compare, but the place is great and the idea of a "reverse zoo" it's amazing. It really feels like you're sleeping in the middle of the jungle with the most noisy silence you could ever hear! The food is pretty good, everybody is polite and the activities are well organised! There...

Spectacular! Great place, kind and helpful staff. We had the best sleep in the cabins despite all the noise from the surrounding jungle. I have to say the best experience was the spider monkeys that came to visit and the two tapirs hanging around. Everyday was an amazing journey into the jungle. We where lucky to hear the jaguar and...

I looked at the 5 top jungle tour companies and choose Madidi once I went into their office. A number of things that stood out during my trip: 1. English in the office and the guides made things a lot easier (and they are all locals) 2. Amazing/ quick email communication 3. Helped set up my flights both ends and...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Madidi Travel is a travel agency and operator with more than ten years of experience in the tourism industry. The organisation was created from the conservation work that the Eco Bolivia Foundation undertook within the Bolivian Madidi Mosaic. Through decades of work and travel within this area we fell in love with it. We are convinced that its beauty and importance should be experienced by people from all over the world. Firstly, we first invited our friends so that they could discover for themselves the richness of the area. Soon thereafter, scientists, artists, photographers, and cinematographers began to arrive, amazed by the beauty of the place. Their enthusiasm gave us the impetus to begin offering tourism services, with the hope that this activity would help us finance our conservation work. As a result, we built infrastructure that would not only serve for our environmental protection work, but also for tourism. All profits generated are invested in conservation efforts and local community development. The Serere Reserve is located within the Madidi Mosaic, on the edge of a mountain range and varzea (flood plain) of the tropical forest. This 4000 hectare private area (owned and operated solely by Madidi Travel) is home to a great diversity of flora and fauna, with more than 300 species of birds, and sightings of jaguarondis, ocelots (dwarf leopard), margays and jaguars. The name Serere is in honour to one Amazon bird, this is one of the oldest birds in the world that has prehistoric characteristics. ... more   less
