We got into town late and and hadn't booked anything. We tried another hotel in town, but they didn't have what we were looking for. The woman I spoke to recommended Hotel de Ville. We called the hotel and Dan had exactly what we needed to accommodate us and our 3 children! The suite was perfect and very affordable! So...

Quaint property, nicely decorated and very clean. Bathroom spacious and shower works like a charm. Only downside was the train traffic that traveled through on a regular basis. The bedroom window air conditioner functioned as white noise so that we weren't bothered by the trains through the night. Definitely would stay again. The new Empire Restaurant half a block away...

For $105 a night the Swan Suite was not worth the money. There were cobwebs all over and we killed at least 5 spiders. 2 of which were in one of the beds. Beds were very uncomfortable, our backs are sore this morning. Plus I knew there wouldn't be much for TV but I would have thought there'd at least...

The fishing is Alma was great, my husband caught many Saugers and they are great eating. tasting like walleye. We rented the Falconer at Hotel de Ville. The furnishing were so inviting and the cottage is fully equipped. There is a lot of remodeling going on and the entire hotel will soon be amazing complete with relaxing gardens by the...

We took a quick 2 day getaway and found this little agate in Alma. Dan the owner is so friendly and welcoming. He has taken a lot of time to restore and decorate these units not to mention the garden. We stayed in the Swan at bargain basement prices. Packed with antiques and very cool stuff this place has character....

A perfect place to stay whether it be romantic or just with friends. They have a variety of room options from a separate cottage, to rooms in the main 'hotel', to a 'house' across the street. We stayed in the 'house' which had 2 beautiful bedrooms with a queen bed, a small kitchenette, dining table, small living room and a...

We traveled here from out of state and had no idea what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised at finding such a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the swan suite that was furnished beautifully, clean and so wonderfully welcoming after a long drive. The full kitchen was more then we expected! Our only not so good surprise was...

elegant rooms, great prices, beautiful view of the Mississippi, I loved it. They have suites, called the Swan, the Eagle, and the Garden. The mattresses are so great, also the décor. I also loved that we had kitchens. I'll do it again

We highly recommend Hotel de Ville. Can't say enough good things about it. This was our third delightful escape here. We have stayed in 3 of the 5 lodgings. This time five of us stayed quite comfortably at the Falcon Cottage. Nice to wake up and enjoy coffee in the separate kitchen area or play games. These properties are very unusual...

We were amazed at the size of our "suite" and found it described best as an "Apartment". Fully furnished with the finest of antiques, crystal, and china, the De Ville gives you a European flavor that's only two and a half hours from the Twin Cities. The double pillowtop mattresses in the bedrooms were a delightful surprise along with the...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel de Ville is located right in the town of Alma Wisconsin which is listed on the National Historical Register. The suites and rooms are appointed in period antiques with a french accent. They are the finest in this part of the State. Our guests love our French formal and Italianate gardens as much as they love our pillow top queen or king mattresses. All Suites have air conditioning which is not the norm in Alma. The stunning Empire Room restaurant is on site and is a destination in itself. Hotel guests are always first in line for reservations. You can enjoy a beer or cocktail on our patio. We look forward to meeting you! ... more   less
