I have stayed at the Redfish twice and have to say that this is one of the better places to stay in Salvador. The neighborhood, the art (done by the owner himself), and the service (the owner actually invests time in training his staff) made this an ideal location to experience Bahia just like it's colonial days. Super charming institution...

We stayed at the Pousada for a few nights each on two separate occasions in Salvador - a beautifully restored building with huge airy rooms and a lovely garden within it's walls! For the price we paid it was the best value we experienced in four weeks in Brazil! The location is perfect, in Santo Antonio which is a five-ten...

This review is dated but we decided to submit one anyway. We stayed in November 2012. The Redfish is located just far enough away from the busy tourist area to give you privacy but within safe and practical walking distance. The room we had was large, clean and over looked the street. The bed was very comfortable The staff was...

Beds so comfortable here I got over a dreadful flight in a day. Beautifully restored and decorated old colonial house, Pousada Redfish is a green and white painted building in a tranquil spot just a short walk up hilly cobblestoned streets to the centre of Pelhourinho. Breakfasts fantastic, especially the tropical fruit and home-made little cakes, staff really friendly, wi-fi...

I stayed at the RedFish in Oct/Nov 2013 with 4 others, occupying 3 rooms and arriving at different times, in each case quite late at night. The check in was smooth and welcoming, with help getting our bags to the rooms and information about the breakfast. The next morning my sister was able to get a message to us that...

We stayed here for four nights in a lovely room on the second floor. My sister had a room in the lush courtyard. Very comfortable, clean and quiet. The staff were helpful, breakfast was delicious and we found the location to be very convenient to main historic areas. You do have to be aware of your surroundings when out and...

Matheus and Tessa were both extremely helpful and nice. The kitchen staff at breakfast was also nice and would prepare omelettes, eggs etc. to order. The whole poussada has original artwork throughout and has the red fish motif /design delightfully placed all around, even the ironworks. The garden courtyard has hammocks and the whole building seems to get breezes at...

I have been to Salvador before but enjoyed it so much more when staying at the redfish. The rooms there are huge, the owner Charles is an artist and has done the whole place very beautifully . In addition the staff are amazingly helpful and you have a very central location right in the heart of the pelorinho. I could...

In order to avail myself of Salvador's New Year's Eve party in its new location in the city center I took a room at Hotel Redfish, where I stayed several years ago. It was all there, the high ceilings, the cool stone floors, the general feeling of space and light (not surprising really, the owner is an artist). To my...

We stayed at Pousada Redfish 2 weeks ago for 4 nights. It was an excellent choice. The owner and staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They offered us a nicer, larger room than the one we reserved because it was available. This better room had 2 comfortable, king beds--we slept well--and a private balcony. The staff...
