This hotel was the cheapest we could find in Ouro Preto. It was what we we're expecting. Nice building and hotel, although the room wasn't that cozy. Breakfast was nice. The location of the hotel, uphill from the central square in direction to Mariana, is not inside of town, but in at a very walkable distance!

This place is tolerable only if you literally just want a bed to sleep in and don't care about anything else. The place is old, there are remnants of dead insects in common areas, the bedroom had an odd smell to it.

This place is tolerable only if you literally just want a bed to sleep in and don't care about anything else. The place is old, there are remnants of dead insects in common areas, the bedroom had an odd smell to it, and I definitely didn't want to sleep in the sheets provided... My boyfriend and I stayed here because...

The guests were not too friendly, the staff was rather absent, there were no locks, no security, no internet. What pissed me off is that they said they were going to fix it, and that there was a curfew at 22:00, which was a lie, since the doors remained open until midnight. On the positive side, they have a nice...

Great staff, very friendly, helpful and accommodating, however this hostel is VERY basic, so don't expect much. A disjointed old building with lots of stairs and rooms/apartments in odd corners, the wonderful staff is what makes this place. Great internet reception in the upstairs lounge area; the place is clean enough and the attached restaurant next door, open most days,...

When arriving, our reservation had not been taken into account ! We were unexpected and we could not communicate nor in english or spanish or french even though the young lady that lately welcomed us at the reception was rather friendly. We could not have access to the Internet due to their random connection to justify our arrival in the...

the place is extremely run down. One sees that once upon a time, the place had been colourfully renovated, but now its just neglected. rooms are damp and smelling of mildew. the owner is apparently not present, and there is nobody playing the role of a welcoming host, although the young personell is very friendly.

This place is one of the cheaper options in town, and it shows. The private twin room we got was downstairs right beside the kitchen and common areas so it was extremely loud. Bathroom leaked, resulting in a very bad smell which would never go away. The room was cramped and cable tv was not cable tv with only local...

After reading the review of the other Sorriso do Lagarto in Belo Horizonte, I had misgivings about this place but as it turned out, it wasn't bad. Although it lies on a busy road, most of the rooms are situated away from it, hence it's reasonably quiet. Nothing very special as accommodation goes, but for a hostel it's clean enough...
